I can't fucking believe I just did that.

Of course you did you dumbass moron. Not like you have a single fucking working brain cell in your skull. Why so surprised?

Wow, I can be a bitch to myself when I want to.

After the apocalypse that just came out of my mouth, Zeke looks like he just got his dog's favourite chew toy shoved up his ass.

Okay nevermind, I suck at analogies.

"I thought I said no judging Zeke..." I raise my eyebrows.

He opens his mouth. Then closes it. Then opens it again.

"What are you trying to do, a goldfish impersonation? Snap the fuck out of it!" I say, waving my hand in front of his confused face.

He blinks."I don't mean to be rude but why in the name of bacon do all my dates have either horrifying, scarring past stories or some weird quirk? Like why? Is it hard to have a normal childhood or something? I had a normal childhood! Was it because my parents played Beethoven when I slept or some shit?!" he says, looking like one of those druggies who think the government is run by aliens.

My mouth hangs open, my jaw suffering from loose-hinge syndrome after his little rant.

I take a step away from him, smiling nervously. I'm seriously starting to consider that the icecream was drugged 'cause damn."Maybe it's because you just have a weird fetish for mentally scarred dates?"

He scoffs and shakes his head. "No, I'm just saying. I seriously plan on doing research on this shit. I already have a theory, it's that fucked up children's book - what's it called again?- oh yeah, Hansel and Gretel. The story is literally about cannibalism and burning people alive!" He looks like he's about to continue but I smack my hand across his mouth and look at him pleadingly.

"Tllreake irht orrff!" He mumbles incoherently, shaking his head under my palm. I contemplate this and slowly remove my hand, afraid he might lick it or something. I mean, come on, it smelled like icecream!

He takes a deep breath. "Okay Renesse, whatever past connection you have with this Aiden guy, we both pretty much know you still have feelings for him and I can't help that no matter how much I want to."

I open my mouth, ready to deny, but something tells me I'd just be lying to both of us.

"I'm sorry, Zeke. I don't want to be attracted to someone who doesn't give a flying fuck about me but I can't help it either." I say, looking down.

"It's alright. I understand. Let's just......."  He trails off, not knowing what to say.

I look up at him. "I liked this date a lot even though I was a little bitch and ended up making a shitstorm out of it. Let's keep in touch okay? I have your number. I'll try to find out what happened to Aiden meanwhile. Okay?"

He smiles softly, like he knows something I don't but should. "Okay."

I smile. "Okay."

"Oka- why is this turning into a scene from The Fault In Our Stars?" He says, chuckling sadly.

I laugh and get up and hug him tight. He hugs back, resting his cheek on my head ruffling my hair as he breathes.

He pulls back, smiling. "Now, let's get you back home, shall we?"

I smile, take his hand and swing it back and forth till we reach the car.
