Blue
After consulting my dad about my sudden decision, which is transferring sa ibang school to play basketball ay kinuha ko na lahat ng credentials ko sa school. Biglaan man pero gusto ko talaga maglaro this upcoming season. I talked to our coach and he said it's okay since they dismissed me without telling the truth naman, hayaan ko na lang daw lumipas ang mga rumors sa pagkatanggal ko sa basketball team ng university.
After kong maayos lahat ng gamit ko at mga papeles, I look at the facade of my school, my once home. Dami ko ring kalokohan dito. I thought. While reminiscing some things, someone tapped my shoulders and even bowed down while her right hand's on her chest and left hand on the hood of my car as her support, her accessory muscles are also moving fast.
"Sama.. ako.. sa 'yo" she said hardly breathing, she must've run just to get to me.
"Lei..." I looked at her intently and the girl seems really serious.
Nakipagsukatan din siya ng tingin sa 'kin and even rolled her eyes as she punched my right shoulder "Come on Blue, never in my life I thought of you being one of my opponent"
"No, you're just clingy" I joked. But my smile fade away when I heard her sob. "Lei... what the fuck.."
"Ikaw lang kaibigan ko dito tapos iiwan mo pa ako" she reasoned out. I bit my lips, seeing her this weak make me sad but also cringe.
So I tapped her shoulder then hugged her tight. "You're not cringeworthy, so stop crying like a whale" but still, the satan out of her cry hard. "Lei, people are watching, stop crying your stupid ass off"
"Blue..." she uttered and hug me real tight, God I'm cho...king.
"Okay.. okay.. I'll take you with me" I just sighed in defeat as she jumped back and giggled. "Such a crybaby" I said and fixed my shirt then signed f.u at her.
"Saan tayo lilipat?" tanong niya na nakapagpaikot ng mga mata ko. I just glared at her as an answer. Natutuwa man akong sasamahan niya ako ay 'di naman maalis sa isip ko kung pa'no na yung team na iiwan namin.
"Seryoso ka ba talagang sasama ka sa 'kin?" Wala ka namang invitations galing sa ibang school" tanong ko pa.
Naiiling niya lang akong tiningnan at sinagot. "Bakit natanggal ba ako sa team gaya mo?" That make sense. Tumango lang ako saka niyaya siyang kumain.
Habang nasa kotse kami ay sinusulyapan ko si Lei at napapailing na lang ako sa isip ko. Lei is a victim of bullying when we were in high school, I remembered when I first saw her ay umiiyak siya dahil pinagkaisahan na naman siya at sinira pa yung gulong ng bike niya. So I and my driver decided to take her home and while on the way ay kinakausap ko siya, naisip ko no'n masayahin pala siya, I often see her alone kasi.
The next day she gave me cookies, the second day she gave me soda, two weeks iba't-ibang pagkain binibigay niya until I asked her kung bakit siya nagbibigay, "nanliligaw ka ba?" Naalala kong tanong ko that made her look down. Then her answer struck me, "I really wanna be your friend kasi" she said while facing the other way. "We're already friends, you don't have to give me these" I said then inangat ko yung bigay niyang pagkain, a box of cupcakes. She just hugged me as a response then promised me that we'll never be in separate ways. Walang'ya tinotoo niya yung sinabi niya. Natatawa kong sabi sa isipan ko.
"Blue, para kang tanga" said Lei on the shotgun seat.
I looked at her trying to suppress my smile but couldn't. "Naisip ko lang, sabi mo noon 'di na tayo magkakahiwalay"
Lei just looked at me then smiled "'Yon kasi 'yong promise ko sa 'yo, ayaw kong baliin, tsaka baka makahanap ka ng ibang best friend malimutan mo ako" looking at Lei while saying that, I felt special, the happiness in me overflowed, and it warmed my heart. "Fcking gay" nahihiya kong sabi. "I love you" dugtong ko pa. Napakaasungot mo Lei!
