She knocked twice and waited. There’s no sign of movement inside. Impatiently she knocked again, this time louder.
“Nathan! Open up.” She called irritably. The receptionist told her, he’s still inside. Was it really hard to wake him up? Its seven quarter already.
“Sandali!” Narinig niyang sagot nito.
“You made me wait forever.” Inis na sita niya rito.
She let herself in even without his invitation. Went straight to the closet and picked some clothes to change the gown she’s wearing since yesterday.
“I guess I don’t need to greet you good morning.” Nathan snorted. “Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?”
“I’m not here to chit-chat. I’m going back to Manila.” She informed him before she headed to the bathroom.
Unlike last night, she’s no longer crying, she couldn’t cry any more even if she forced herself. Her tearducks dried up. Finally her eyes became numb just like her heart. Ethan succeded in punishing her, her heart was badly beaten and barely beating.
She turned off the shower and grabbed a towel to dry her bosy, clothed herself, reached for the gown on the floor and get out. She went back to the closet and put the clothes inside her luggage, zipped it on and picked it up.
“Are you serious? I thought we’re going to stay for another night?” Nathan asked in disbelief.
“I changed my mind. Uuwi na ako. If you want to stay, its fine with me but I need your car. “Where’s your key?”
“What happened? Did he hurt you?”
She totally ignored his question.
“Sandali, sasabay na akong umuwi. I’ll just get my things.”
She sighed and immediately erased the image on her mind. Seeing Nathan zipping his pants on reminded her of how Ethan removed his pants in front of her. She didn’t want to relive the events that occurred afterwards.
“I’ll just wait for you in your car.”
“Karina! Tama na!” Sigaw ng isip niya. What’s the use of thinking about it? There’s no going back now. Karina the martyr exsisted no more.
