"Kanina ang asawa mo ang narito, now Mrs. Morgan is here." There's a wicked grin on Don Eduardo's face. "To what do I owe this honour of your visit?"
"I don't want to sound rude but you know very well why I'm here." She's trying her best to say it in the most pleasing way.
"Believe me, I'm surprise. What is it you want us to talk about this time?" The smile on his face widened. "Humor me."
"Cut the pretense." Still, she tried to hold her temper by not raising her voice. "Why do you have to get involved in Ethan's business?"
Don Eduardo looked at his wrist watch. "He just left about an hour ago. That fast?
"He didn't but somebody else did. Answer my question. Why do you have to invest and pull it out all of a sudden?" Her eyes snapped in irritation.
It hit her. In a split second, sadness clouded her eyes. She too, thought it would be her future. She looked away and erased the picture of them old together. It won't happen, she already accepted that.
No need to be sentimental.
"Jaime told me how your bastard husband treated you. Don Eduardo continued.
"You have no right to interfere on my affairs!" She snarled at him. "I fight my own battles, I don't need you." For years now, she learned how to resolve her problems without depending on any one.
You already knew the story from Katrina. Walang pamimilit na nangyari kaya I don't understand why you always reject me."
She wanted to correct him.
When her grandfather died and he became their guardian, natakot na siyang maging malapit ang loob rito.
As much as possible, she placed a wall between them.
"Hindi ako galit." She admitted. "Ayoko lang ng pinakikialaman ako." This time her voice lowered down.
"Young people like you act impulsive especially when their in love." Don Eduardo remarked.
"Let me deal with Ethan, me alone." She emphasized.
"How do you plan on doing that?" He further inquired.
"Don't push it." "I have no intention of seeking your advice or telling you what I'm going to do with him. I'm here to talk you out of it." She paused. "Don't pull out your investments."
"You love him that much? You still do?"
"This is not an issue of what my feelings for him are. Whatever happened between the two of us, hindi kailangan na madamay pati ang business niya."
"I made up my mind, I'll get my money back." He said it with finality.
"Please," she pleaded. "He doesn't deserve to be punish I am the one who lied to him. Hindi man niya ako nagawang mahalin, alam ko napakahalaga sa kanya ng business niya kaya your money is in good hands."
