~ 3 WEEKS LATER ~

Dee's P.O.V

It's crazy how pure reality is from what people make it out to be. Nothing is real until you actually experience it on your own otherwise it's all a theory.

Being pregnant is somewhere along the lines of that.

With all the pregnant women I've interacted with previously, they always say what a wonderful experience it is from the start. What they don't tell you is that when you open your eyes every morning, the feeling of a burn in the back of your neck arises and you have to make it to the bathroom in about 0.8 seconds before you throw up literally everywhere.

I tackle back, crashing into the bathroom wall as I look at the toilet where I practically spilled my guts out in. The gooey feeling in my mouth tasted horrible and I honestly don't know how I've dealt with it for the past few weeks.

I don't know how I'm meant to deal with it for the next nine months too.

"Sick again?" I hear Anthea peer from the bedroom door. I wait a while, listening to the pattering of feet walking closer to me. Her sweet figure towers over me in seconds and she smiles. "You look pale again, babe."

"Probably because I just gave into my stomach again." I roll my eyes at her before reaching my hands out for her to help me stand up. The back of my hand meets my lips and I wipe the excess off my mouth, before turning to the bathroom vanity.

My eyes scape across my whole face and I sigh giving Anthea a small smile from the mirror's reflection. She picks up the hairbrush on the top of the sink and begins to comb her soft hair through it.

"You have your check-up today..." She starts, keeping an eye on me through the reflection as I brush my teeth. "How'd you feel about that?"

I spit into the sink, keeping my brush within my mouth. "I don't know what to expect. I did research, all I know is that I'm going to be having an ultrasound and probably a small talk for big plans with the doctor."

She nods, holding her thumbs up. "You want one of us to come with you, today?"

I shake my head as I lean down to spit the remaining toothpaste in the sink. "I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" She reassures me with a concerning look on her faces.

I turn around to her before giving her a tiny hug from the side, embracing the love I have for this woman. "I need to go on my own this time. I think I need to toughen up a bit more for this and I really need to build it on my own, Anthea."

She smiles, rubbing my back slightly. "That it girl! I'm so proud of you!" Her voice toned encouragement and it only boosted my self-esteem.

"If you hug me any longer, I might turn out to be late for my appointment." I chuckle as I pat her shoulders.

She laughs, pulling away from me and bending down to my lower abdomen. "Hey, there. I'm you're aunty Anthea." She speaks, confusing me.

I ruffle her hair making her gasps and stand straight. "Anthea, I don't think the baby has been developed to a stage where it even has an ass. It's not hearing from you anytime soon."

"Sorry, I can't contain myself. I can't wait until you become all big and moody!" She says excitedly as she brushes her hair with her fingers.

I shake my head at her as she skips out of the room with pure joy surrounding her.
