Kaz's P.O.V
I take I deep breathe as I stare into the camera sitting directly in front of me. It took me a while to convince myself that this decision was the only way I would be able to experience living a normal life.
I've come so far, too far to realise that maybe this wasn't the life I wanted to live on. I have responsibilities other than this mafia industry and in reality, it was the only thing that was stopping me from striving to live the normal boring life I've always wanted.
"Okay," Jay stands behind the camera, readjusting the setup and clamping his hands together. "I've set up the live stream and notified every single person to tune in."
I nod, only giving him half of my attention. Most of my concern is currently being taken by what I'm supposed to tell the people that have worked for this gang most of their life. "Roll the cameras. I need too get this over and done with or else I'm just going to back out like a pussy,"
I side-eye Freddie, who was watching me from the couch, "You're sure you want to do this?"
"Freddie." I start. "This is our only chance to start a new life. Is that not what you want?"
Freddie bites the insides of his cheek, and I watch as his thoughts fly around his mind. His eyes soften a bit. "Of course I want to do this. We all agreed to it...I'm just worried we'll regret it."
Jay pats Freddie's shoulder, slings his arm across and smiling. "We have all the money in the world. Enough to last generations, especially if we invest. If anything, we'd be stupid not to take the chance."
My phone goes off, alerting me that it was time to switch on my the camera and tell the whole world that Freddie, Jay and I were...retiring.
I sigh, looking up at the guys. "I guess it's time to tell the whole world to fuck off."
Jay laughs, clapping his hands. "That's my guy."
I sit forward at my desk, my hands laced together sitting on top of the desk while as I position myself to look as powerful as ever.
Jay begins to count down, and all I could say was that my heart began to race faster as the numbers from his lips got smaller.
"3...2..." He mouths the number one and points at me, telling me that I'm being watched by people all over the world.
I clear my throat, slightly frowning before I begin to speak. "Good Evening, fellow members."
"As we all know, today is the trade-off of weapons with the Russian government. With all respect to your patience, We are happy to announce this will be our last trade. As of tomorrow, you as individuals are no longer part of a mafia. The guys and I have made the decision to move on from this life and retire. We understand that most of you will become jobless, and we have planned too give you the benefit of a doubt and grant you five hundred thousand dollars per person. Hopefully, it will be enough for you to forgive us for leaving you on such short notice. I would like to clarify that there will and must not be any harm done to you and your families from now on. On a more personal note, I encourage everyone to make a better living of there lives, spend the rest of your lives wisely and give the chance of starting fresh. This will be your only chance."
I pause for a couple of seconds, not knowing whether what I've said was enough. I eye both Jay and Freddie, who were standing in front of me.
"For now, this is goodbye from us, and good luck on your foreseeing future. I'm Kaz Black, talking on behalf of the once known indestructible gang 'The Black Kings'."
Jay mouths down a countdown from 3 again, making me sigh heavily. "You did it, man!"
I smile slightly, feeling a huge pressure lift off my body like there was no tomorrow. "I can't believe I just fucking did that."
