A better life.
I don't want to end up like my father and I definitely don't want Dee to end up dead like my mother. I'll admit that I've finally been able to search a fear for my self...Death upon myself and everyone I care of.
I know that I never was an open minded person, but I've got a life know. My life is no longer sleep, work, drink and party anymore. I have responsibilities to fulfil and people to take care of. The last thing I want is to make a stupid mistake and fuck up all the future opportunities I have to have a stable life.
"I'm going to miss it, yes..." My hands grab a hold of the cut down butter and I place it in the pan, making it sizzle and melt away into nothingness. "...but, I don't think it's necessary that I continue the work my father wanted to do himself. This was his life, not mine."
Dee hands me the perfectly mixed eggs, they looked fluffy enough to eat them now.
I smile down at her, mentally thanking god for giving me someone who cared enough to listen to my thoughts. "I've done enough for him and he is long gone now. I can't devote my life to this business forever. I'm going to have to move on eventually." I pour the eggs into the pan and we both watch as the magic of the eggs unfold.
"Okay." She starts. "If you're happy with going foward with this then I'm just as happy as you are."
Her supportive grin makes me go wild inside and I couldn't contain myself. I slide my arms around her tiny waist, wasting no time in picking her up.
She squeals, laughing as she wraps her legs around me so she feels secure that she won't fall. I place her onto of the counter, pushing back the dirty bowl and whisk. Her arms were hugging me tightly and I could feel her heart thumping against my chest.
She was just as excited as I was and that made me feel extremely luckily.
I snug my lips in the crock of her neck, taking in the sweet scent of hers. "I love you, baby" i murmur in the moment.
Her hands gently message my hair, making me groan. I pull back, putting my forehead agaisnt her. I've never felt so much joy in my life then I have now.
"I love you too." She pressed her lips against mine as she smiled. Her glossy lips pulled away quicker then I intended them too making me wince like a baby. "As much as I would love too make out with you, those eggs aren't going to flip themself and the last thing I want is for them to burn."
"Meh, who cares, I'll just buy you breakfast." I shrug as I place both my arms on each side of her while I stood between her legs. "Now, where were we?"
I go in to kiss her again but she brings her palm up to my lips. "Flip the eggs, Kaz. I'm not letting you waste food because you were too caught up in kissing me."
I roll my eyes, grunting as I flip the eggs over with a spatula. They were cooked to perfection, any longer and they would have burnt to a crisp. I watch Dee hand me a plate with a smile spread across her lips.
"Bon Apple Tea." I jokliy say as I place the plate of eggs in front of Dee, making her snicker.
"Wow, so romantic. I've always wanted a man who cooked me eggs for breakfast." She also jokes, poking a fork into the eggs and feeding herself.
I smirk. "What can I say. I'm a helpless romantic."
She stabs the eggs again, bringing the fork up too my mouth this time.
I should really tell her about London.
She takes another bite."Anything else you need to get off your chest?"
It's like she could hear what I was thinking.
I clear my throat, still chewing on the eggs. "Actually, I do." I nervously laugh
"Yeah?" She looks down at the frozen bacon and place them in the pan, making it sizzle too. "Completely forgot about this," She talks too herself.
I gulp, knowing I'm going to catch her off graud. "I have to go to London for a month or so."
She immediately stops what she was doing and looks at me her wide brown eyes. "A month or so!?" I could hear the panic is her voice. "What?- Why?- Kaz, no,"
"I know this is out of the blue, but I only got the call this morning. I have to finish up business in London which was assigned to my father but unfortunately, he passed on before he could accomplish it," I bring my hands up to her shoulders, giving them a light rub.
She crushes me into a hug, making me sigh. "Kaz, please don't go. Who knows what will happen if you're not here with me."
I pull away and frown. "No one's going to hurt you. I'll make sure I have a security team to keep watch on you, okay?"
Her tongue kisses her teeth and she shakes her head. "I don't want a bloody security team watching over me. I want you," Her tone was off and I knew she was pissed off. She tries pushing me away from her but I was quick to grabbing her wrist, only for her to snatch it away from me.
"Please, don't do this. I only have a few days to spend with you until I leave," I softly beg her to lighten up. "I don't want to leave on a bad note, Dee."
Dee sat on the stool, now having the counter between us as she looks down at her lap. "Can I come with you?" She whispers, alomst desperate for me to agree to it.
"God no, baby. It'll be dangerous and I don't want to involve you in this shit again" I prove my point as I come around to her side. I tuck a few pieces of hair behind her ear and place a kiss agaisnt her rosy cheek. "I'll be back in a matter of time. The girls are going to be staying with you. Everything will be ok,"
"You promise to call me everyday?" She pouts, making my heart drop.
"Everyday,"
"You promise to bring me something back?" She says giving me a small smile.
I laugh, liking how quickly she changed her mind about me going when she now knows that the girls will be with her. "I'll bring you something special, I promise, baby,"
"Can you kidnap Tom Holland for me?" She grins like a child.
"The Spiderman guy? No, I think I'll keep you to myself," I smile, leaning in to kiss the top of her head. "Do we have a deal?"
"I guess we have a deal."
