When I'm With You (REWRITING)

CHAPTER 43

I was finally free of everything that had corrupted me. All I ever wanted was to live my life in peace...And now, that's exactly what I'm going to get.

I arrive back home, feeling like a different person. I was no longer status as a leader of a cruel gang. I was just a human being named Kaz, who wanted to travel the world for the beauty of nature and marry the girl of his dreams. 

I smile as I walk into the house, hearing light footsteps upstairs. 

I hear my phone ting, meaning I had received a message. 

Dee 

Come find me : )

My blood pumps in excitement and the smile on my face stretch to its full capacity. 

Kaz 

Bet. I'll find you in under 10 minutes.  

Dee 

If you say so...but if you're not able to then you don't get the surprise. 

I lift my eyebrow at the mentioning of 'surprise'. It was so odd to me that this surprise was not something that could ruin my entire career, but a 'surprise' that could make me happier about the person I am and am learning to be 

Dee

Your time started like 30 seconds ago, Kaz.

I roll my eyes, shoving my phone in my back pocket and grab the stair railing as I run up to where I heard her tiny footsteps. The upstairs was silent and as much as I hated it, I liked the rush it gave me because I was playing a game. 

I stamped into the first room where I thought she would be stupid enough to hide in...our room. 

I look around the room, realising it was brighter than usual. 

My eyes land on the walk-in closet and I smirk like a smartass. I proudly walk into the fully clothed room and turn the lights on. I sigh, needless knowing that I was stupid to think she would hide in such an obvious place.

Dee

7 minutes...

I swear I could hear her giggle behind the phone. I hit the switch, puffing and walk into the gaming room. "Dee! Cut the bullshit and come out already! I really want to kiss you!" I sounded like an absolute dork, but at that moment I really couldn't care. I had no one to show I was a tough, reckless son of a bitch anymore. 

I looked around the entire gaming room, cussing every time I didn't find her. Under the pool table, behind the tv, under the blankets laid against the couches.  

This girl is unbelievable and it was time for me to give up. 

Dee

2 minutes! Mwaha. YOU'LL NEVER FIND MEEE! 

I roll my eyes again and walk back downstairs, knowing she'll realise gave up when I turn on the Tv in the living room. I sit down on the couch, arching my head against the soft sofa and switch a random soccer game on the TV. 

I quietly chuckle when I felt my phone buzz again. 

Dee

You gave up, didn't you? :(

Kaz 

You know me so well :)

In a matter of seconds, I felt the couch dip next to me and I smile. Dee watches me as my eyes don't budge from the soccer match and she pouts.
