You know... This was only meant to be a short chapter, probably only 2k words or so... It's funny how things like this always happen. It's also why there are times I'm a little delayed because what was meant to be a small project turns into something more.
Why do I do this to myself?
Anyways, hope you guys enjoy this chapter!

~Henry's POV~
Now with an idea of where our enemies might be hiding, Melody and I decide to scan the trail for ourselves. It was still early in the day so we'd have plenty of time to look through the track before we'd have to worry about the sun setting on us.
As to why we chose to scour the trail, even after we just discovered Sabor and Clayton's potential hiding spot only an hour ago, is so we can ensure that there aren't any hidden traps set out for trespassers, aka us. If Clayton really is a notorious poacher as Melody claims him to be, then I'm sure he'll have traps set for travelers or wild animals, whichever he catches first. Also, we have to make sure that it's easy to travel through.
Sure, magic can be the safest bet to get to and from that location, but my family and I already decided to have a group go on foot through the trail. That first group, who must travel down the trail, has to understand any exits that are around the area that they can use or any potential escape routes Sabor and Clayton might use.
Magic may have its perks, but it can't help you with everything.
This is why Melody and I were chosen as the pair to test the trail for ourselves and confirm my sister's theory.
Melody, obviously, is the best person to navigate the forest and understand the conditions that the first group might be dealing with. Out of the two of us, she knows where North and South are when everything around her looks exactly the same.
I only agreed to tag along. Believe me, if I can get through this trail (since Melody explained the difficulty of it), then that means anyone can. I'm not saying I'm not athletic, but I'm not exactly adapted to these kinds of terrains. I'm really used to smooth walks down the forest, not endurance trails. And... the other reason I came was to keep a close eye on Melody. With me tagging along, there's a hundred percent chance that she won't risk an ambush on Sabor and Clayton.
After all, they still have the Golden Sunflower. It's the most powerful weapon they have on us; who knows, it might also be deadly with its powers. If Melody even got a pinch of the flower's powerful pollen, there's a chance that she can lose her powers forever.
That's why an ambush with only the two of us, with only one of us having magic (while all I can get is a magic pen), can be dangerous. If we're both powerless, we just might die.
But the same can happen to anyone else.
So, the only option we have in confronting those two, while they still have their hands on the Golden Sunflower, is going as a group. That way we can protect each other from any potential danger.
All of this trouble... just to stop Sabor from whatever she's unleashing into our world.
But if Melody is really worried about the kinds of danger that is to come from this curse, then we all have a reason to just as worried as her.
