~Time Skip to the Next day~

~Henry's POV~

Once I open my eyes, I jump out of my bed. I didn't want to waste any time getting into the woods. I had already spent most of the night thinking up questions I needed answers to, so it saved me some time from doing them at the last minute. Once off of bed, I quickly get dressed, putting on only a plain shirt, pants, and shoes. I did my other morning routines, including cleaning my room and brushing my teeth, in a flash. I pack my backpack with items I might need while in the forest, including my story book. In the end, I was ready in about half-an-hour.

I run down the stairs then make my way into the kitchen, knowing that if I didn't eat something before I left my mom (Regina) would never let me out of the house. Once in the kitchen, I see my mom (Regina) sitting on one of the stools with a cup of coffee in her hand.

"You're up early," she says, surprised to see me out of bed on a weekend.

"I have something really important to do," I respond.

"I see." I walk over to one of the cabinets then grab two granola bars then an apple on the counter, thinking it was enough for my mom to let me out. I also grab a sports drink from the fridge. Once I had everything and placed them in my backpack, except for one of the granola bars which I began eating, I walk out of the room and head for the door.

"Bye, Mom," I say before closing the front door behind me. With that, I make a mad dash away from my house and into the forest. I was in such a hurry I ignored my mom (Emma) as she was getting out of her car. She must've wanted to talk with my mom (Regina). But, I didn't really care at the moment; I had another important thing on my mind.

With that, I continue running towards the direction of the woods. Since I was given the freedom of going anywhere I want, I thought of going somewhere new. Now was the best time to finally explore. Finally, I saw the endless group of trees in the distance. It only encourages me to run faster into the woods. Once inside, I just run off into a random direction. I really want to see if Melody was able to find me; I wanted to see what she was capable of.

After five minutes of non-stop running, I decide that it was best to stop and take a break. I slouch against a tree, putting all of my weight on the large plant. I didn't realize how exhausted I am until I stop to take a break. I struggle to take in a simple breath of air. If I would've thought I would be running a marathon, I've would've packed lighter.

"Told you I'd find you," Melody speaks up behind me.

I yelp and abruptly turn behind me. I turn just in time to see her hop down, from I don't even know where, besides me. Once she lands, she gives me a kind smile. Today, her outfit consisted of a black long-sleeve hooded dress and a pair of combat boots. Something that surprises me was her eyes. They seemed to have change colors. They, at first, were a light purple color but quickly change back to their normal chocolate brown color.

"Woah, do they usually do that?" I point out.

"What does what do what?" she asks.

"Do your eyes usually change color like that?"

"Sometimes. Though I never notice." She sighs, looks around, and turns back to me. "So, why don't we start this interview? I know you have a lot of questions for me, Henry."

"Okay, first of all, why did you hurt my mom?"

"I didn't want her to find me; it was the only way for me to get away. Sorry about that."
