[Chapter 24] A Pirate's Life for Me

I wanted to dedicate this chapter to another one of my lovely reader. They practically binge read through all the chapters in one day. That's really instense, my friend.

"So, you like having your room back?" Henry asks. He was walking beside me as we made our way down the flight of stairs.

"I would but it's not my old room," I reply.

"What but Mom said-"

"My old room was your bedroom, but it's fine. Besides, the sun always faced that side of the room and I could never sleep. Guess you're stuck with that from now on."

He chuckles. With that, we reach the bottom and return back to the small group of people who were in the living room.

"I take it you've settled in," said my mom.

"Well, not exactly, but I'm glad I don't have to move those heavy boxes."

She smiles. "Don't worry. I'll make sure your brother takes care of the rest."

"Mom!!" Henry yells.

I giggle. Before I could even sympathize with Henry, I felt a small force wrap around my waist. I look down then shout, "Roland!!" I didn't hesitate to pick up the small child, which my mom scolded me on. "How you've been, little man?"

"I'm good!" he says, smiling from cheek to cheek. "So, are you staying with us?"

"Hmm, let me think about it." I smirk before looking up, seeming as if I was in deep thought, then looking back at the young face. "Yea, I'm staying."

"Yay, then we can play knights and bandits, and you can bring me more toys."

"That is if Regina will allow that," a voice adds in. I look to my side only to find Robin walking towards us. "The last thing we need is this home to be cluttered with toys."

"I agree." I put the small boy back on the ground. "I'll play with you in a bit. I have to talk with your father."

He nods then runs off to who-knows-where.

I sigh before turning my full attention towards Robin Hood himself. "Robin, I just want to sincerely apologize for almost hurting you and, especially, Roland. Believe me, it was never my intention to hu-"

"It's okay. I forgive you, but you just have to promise me that none of your gifts to Roland will burst into flames."

I smile. "I'll try to work on that, I promise."

"Then, I suppose this calls for a long awaited reunion." Before I knew it, I was practically suffocated by Robin's tight hug. "After all, this time I'm not here as your friend but your stepfather."

"Oh wow, this is so sudden. Never thought I'd see the day where you could be my future dad. We first went from friends, to strangers, to potential enemies, and now to family."

"You should know by now this is how our life works."

"True, but don't expect me to be calling you 'Dad' anytime soon. That's just weird."
