~Tarza/Melody Flashback~

"Tarza?" Jean calls out to the girl before him.

However, she paid no attention to him. She was still off in her trance, pondering at her idea which she just barely formulated. It was going to take more than a single word to wake the girl from her deep thoughts.

Then Jean grips onto her shoulders and shouts, "Tarza!"

It was only then when Tarza fell back into reality. She snaps her head forward, looking back at Jean, and her muscles tense. Seeing the man before her and recollecting the past minute, Tarza loosens her body before pulling herself away from Jean's touch.

She stays silent throughout it all.

Tarza knows that her plan is risky. Anything can go wrong at any given moment, but the consequences can't possibly compare to the end game. There's so much at stake that Tarza can't give up anymore. She's stalled "Operation Leopard" for as long as she could, even when she didn't recognize herself doing so.

Jean gave her the wake up call she needed.

Tarza has to go on with her plan, regardless of the cost; her family means more to her than any price she has to pay to ensure their safety.

It's now or never. The only way the "Operation Leopard" will go through is if she takes that first leap of faith.

What is she waiting for?

With that, Tarza breathes in a deep sigh. She lifts her gaze so she would be in direct eye contact with the taller gentleman.

"You're worrying me, Tarza," says Jean. "What's on your mind?"

She licks her lips. "What if I say I can find a way for you and another gorilla to meet, that way you and Quincy can go on with your research?"

Jean's mouth hung open. He hesitates to voice his answer, so his reply was, "Are you sure about that? You did just say that your troop doesn't take kindly to... humans."

However, Tarza doesn't hesitate to nod her head, vigorously. "I'm sure." She, somehow, manages to move her lips up to a beaming smile. "I know how much this study means to you and Quincy. Publishing your book on my family can change both your lives for the better. I can't keep you here wasting your time in this jungle any longer. You have to go move on with your life and experience what the world has in store for you."

Who knows where Tarza found the words to make her speech as moving as it was, but she's rolling with it. Words are more powerful than physical force, or at least, that's what Tarza has heard from Quincy.

Tarza might as well use her vast communication to her advantage.

As soon as she ended, Jean didn't share the same enthusiasm as her. In fact, his lips curved in the opposite direction, to a frown. "But..." he mutter, "Don't you know what that means for us?"

Her smile breaks, but it doesn't fall down. Tarza holds herself together and her lips stay in a straight line.

How did she know that subject would be brought up eventually? She wanted to avoid, but deep down, it was inevitable.
