Apologies for the delay on the update. I'm expiriencing a small writer's block; it's not anything big but it's like a pest in my brain and it's making it difficult for me to come up with ideas. The previous chapter was sort of the last chapter that I had notes to go on that make it easier for me to write a chapter in a timely manner. So, from this chapter and into all the others, I was in a stump where I couldn't write because I had nothing to go on. Of course, I have notes for the book as a whole, but nothing for a specific chapter. It also doesn't help that I'm in that really annoying phase of a story where I'm crossing over from one huge plot point onto the next.
So please bear with me while I get things sorted out. Trust me, I'll have the storyline fixed in no time and I'll be back to writing chapters in a timely manner.
Hope you guys enjoy this chapter. It's a little more light-hearted rather than feelsy like my previous chapters.

~Melody's POV~
Just as I pick the white kitten up from the floor using one hand, the orange feline somehow manages to slither out of my other and frolic away from me, leaving me in the same position as I was only moments ago. Man... who knew that kittens could be such a hassle, and I thought baby gorillas were horrible. These mischievous trio of kittens might have the pack of young gorillas beat. How will I survive them?
Now, most of you have probably already guessed it, but yes. I'm in Killian and Emma's home. This is the felines' temporary home after all. But, before any of you wonder, it's only Killian, Henry, and me that are occupying the residents, beside our furry friends.
I'm still not ready to come face-to-face with Emma yet. Part of it is due to the fact that I'm ashamed to see her, especially after what I did to her, and the other part is because I'm still angry at her. She still said those hurtful things to me. Let's see when I'll ever see the "savior" again.
I'll admit their house is really cozy. Being in a different environment and seeing the lake through the windows, it's exactly what I need after everything that's happened the past couple days.
I needed a change of scenery to ease all of my stress. Being at home constantly, not only is it boring, but it can drive anyone crazy. Plus, I've heard that animals are a great stress reliever. (Clearly, they've never been in my shoes... or in the Forbidden Jungle.) And, hey, I've got three kittens that are practically calling my name for snuggles and affections.
Also, it was about time I show Henry the kittens. He needs the distraction just as much as I do.
So, the second my alarm rang in the morning, I quickly got ready, woke my brother up in the process, and headed straight for Killian's home. It was about time the pirate took a break from kitty-sitting.
Nothing is more relaxing than playing with a litter of kittens.
... To be perfectly honest, saying that I needed a break from all of the chaotic events was, mostly, a cover up just to get away from my mom. I'm still upset with her. Not "I want to murder her" upset, but "I need time away from her" upset. I mean, she is keeping a huge secret from me, one that could put all the puzzle pieces back together, and she doesn't even have the decency to tell me anything. It's just so frustrating.
So, aside from everything that's happened with me the past few days, I need to be away from my mom. Maybe then, my anger can lower to a more livable standard. It's better for everyone in the household that I don't have a dark cloud hovering above me, creating an awkward tension for others to endure.
