I am so sorry about the late upload. I was suppose to bring this out last weekend, but let me tell you... flashbacks are a killer to me. They require a lot of detail. Plus, a lot is going to happen, but for the most part, it's all good. This chapter is quite long so hopefully it'll make up for the inactivity (It won't 😞 I deserve the shame...).
The OUAT Season 7 premiere is coming out next week!!! So expect 2 chapters to be coming out soon... I'm so excited that it's premiering on my birthday!!!
Finally, I wanted to give a huge shoutout to @SkiWoodruff . Thank you so much for the votes and the support you've given for this story. I just wanted to show my appreciation to all my readers, so to everyone, Thank you!!
Anyways, hope you enjoy this chapter. It's going to be a long one, so sit back and enjoy the read...

~Melody/Killian Flashback~
The team of five walked in a closely-knit circle through the Janavaar Jungle while the sun's intense rays beamed into the atmosphere, subsequently being blocked by the thick greenery that spread throughout the massive island. Although there was no need for the team to travel so close together, they seemed to have formed a bond that would be unbreakable.
Shere Khan is dead. His reign of terror would no longer shadow the island and all of its inhabitants. And, these heroes were responsible for taking away everyone's fear. They saved the Janavaar Jungle from a fearful tyrant.
And, like every great adventure told in a book, it must always come to an end.
Sadly, these heroes were nearing their end. The time would come where they'd finish this jungle book.
To them, it felt as if the finish line was coming faster than they'd expected. The first time around, Melody and Killian were strangers in this new world. Every turn and every tree looked just about the same in their eyes, but now, it's like they knew this jungle like the back of their hand, or (more appropriately) like the handle of a hook.
It was all thanks to their new friends that they became familiar to the jungle. Without them, they'd still be lost in the jungle trying to find their way to the Prophecy.
In fact, Bagheera, Baloo, and Mowgli were more helpful in more ways than one. Together, they watched each other's backs from creatures that were out to get them and they helped one another as they trekked through the vast jungle. Overall, they build a stronger bond faster than Killian could ever trust his own crew.
They all learned to be good friends.
To tell the truth, Killian never thought he'd ever see the day where he'd befriend a group of animals, but he wouldn't change at all. It seems like this pirate has learned a very valuable lesson. Don't judge a book by its cover, and anyone can find the most unlikely of friends in the most unlikely places.
It looks like this pirate's dark heart is beginning to shine a glimmer of hope. He has a speck of goodness in him, and it's all thanks to his companion.
They may've entered this jungle looking for one thing, but this duo will come out of this with something else. (As cheesy as it seems) They've become close partners and have a relationship Killian never thought he'd ever get.
Sadly, although Killian and Melody left, somewhat, empty-handed, they still found what they were looking for. They had found the Prophecy, the key they needed to defeat the Dark One. They couldn't find the answers they were seeking, but at least, they know the Prophecy was real. This journey wasn't a total waste of time.
