When I'm With You (REWRITING)

CHAPTER 41

Peter comes up to the screen and smirks pushing his hair back. "We're waiting for you pretty boy," He looks back at Dee. "Or maybe it'll just be me," His sick grin turns wider as he turns the camera off. 

I feel rage reach over my body. "FUCK!" 

I throw the laptop across the room making it snap and shatter, making it worthless. I grab the closet vase and smash against the glass table making glass fly everywhere. Small pieces of glass stabbing my hand but I was numb from pain at this point. 

Seeing Dee suffer so much for my reckless action made me want to hurt myself even more.

I hear Freddie and Jay run into the room and grab onto me to try and to stop me. "Kaz! For God's sake! Stop!" Jay yells over the glass shattering noises. He grabs the glass-like object out of my hand and places it on the couch. 

"Trace where that fucking email came from!" I demand as I snap away from Freddie's grip.  

"We can't find a location from the address. Peter must have destroyed the device after sending the video." Freddie explains as he looked at his now trashy living room.

I finally come to my senses as I look over the living room. Fuck, I was getting out of my hands at this point. Neither the guys nor girls deserve my childish behaviour.  

I take big breaths to calm myself down again. "Fuck, Freddie. I'm sorry" I shamefully apologise with regret dripping down my tone. 

"It's fine, Kaz. I'd be lying if I said I won't act the same way if it was Janyce in this situation," He comes closer to me, making me sigh in relief and smile. 

I bring both of them into a gripping hug. "Thanks for not being dickheads back to me," 

I suddenly realised something out of the blue, making me cut the hug short. "You know who might know where Peter is?" 

"Landon," they both say in sync.

"Cmon Landon! Can you at least remember if he's said something about where he might go? Maybe a clue?" Jay says as he cracks his knuckles. 

Landon shakes his head in defeat, only making me tired. "Not that I remember,". 

"You're hundred per cent sure?" I say, with the hope he would remember something in the next couple of seconds. 

He continued to shake his head as he looked at all three of us on the same couch. "Have you guys found something on him at least?" 

"He changed his number and destroyed every device he has been using," Jay explains. 

"What about cameras? Like security ones?" Landon asks as he paces around the room. 

Freddie shakes his head. "Nothing," He sighs. 

I instantly remember something. "That night when you broke into the Underground Headquarters...You guys stole the money from the safe. Where is it?" I ask confused. 

"We didn't take any money from you guys. It was a distraction for you guys to get to Headquarters, Peter caused some damage enough for it to keep you guys there while we went to get Dee. I knew I had to stop him but he shot me before I could do anything," He dumps himself on the couch opposite to us and holds his head in his hands. 

We were all quiet for a good few seconds before Layla came out of nowhere and spoke. "I think I might know,"

I shot up from the couch and gave her my full attention. 

She took a few steps back and began speaking. "Peter and Landon were drunk out of their minds a few weeks ago and knowing me, I had to listen to what they were saying. Peter said something about the Minvera Woods, I didn't catch what they were actually talking about but Landon had asked if it was out of the way and an abandoned place," she confesses as she fiddled with her fingers. 

"-Minvera Woods! It's pretty abanded. Look!" Landon says as he tilts his phone towards me. I grab the phone from his hands and go on maps to see if there was any house nearby or in the Woods.

"Wherever he is living is obviously not legalised," I sigh in defeat, throwing Landon's phones back to him. 

"We're just going to have to pray and hope that Dee's there," Jay says rubbing his hands together. 

I pull out my phone and look at the picture of Dee and me on my lock screen. It was one of the only things that had kept me sane for this past week.  

"I'm coming to get you, Baby."
