"Your dad was right. You deserve nothing."

A tear escapes my waterline as he sticks ducktape on my mouth and walks out locking the door without saying another word.

I stared at the door, emotionless and weak.

By now, I realized he had tied my legs down too. I looked around the silent room. It was clean but dark as hell, only scaring me more.

My body shoots up, suddenly awake to a gunshot upstairs.

I tried ignoring knowing it's probably just another dead body of Rayn's 'disrespected guests'.

"-TELL ME WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?! YOU SON O-" I didn't hear the rest because my ears began to ring. The voice was so familiar, that I was worried I was dreaming.

I tried screaming but the fucking ducktape was stopping me from projecting my voice. I banged my feet as loud as I could against the ground but it didn't help at all.

I looked around for something sharp enough to cut the rope. I was starting to lose hope as I didn't see anything.

Then I thought of something.

I brought my dry tongue out of my mouth and pushed it against the tape, hoping I had enough saliva to make it wet enough to come off.

Kaz's P.O.V

I wake up again to the same scent.

I knew I was torturing myself by sleeping in her bed.

I was punishing myself for not being able to take care of Dee. For not keeping her safe like I promised her.

I groan and get up. The wooden floor creaks like always and I roll my eye, not caring if it walks anyone up.

I sigh, getting sick of seeing the same time every morning.

I throw my shirt around my head as I walk out to the hallway. I was about to wake Freddie up but then I realized that Janyce is back. I guess that means there's one less problem to worry about. I smile a bit knowing my best friends are happy.

I run for a good 30 minutes from Dee's house, still noting being able to breathe as questions clog my mind.

I stop near a park and sit on the bench, taking in the morning view. Birds were chirping as they began to wake the residents up from their sleep.

I felt a light tug on my shorts and look down.

It was girl probably aged 3. "Scuse me sir, I lose my mummy. Can u please help me find her?" Her vocabulary was broken, but I didn't expect anything any better. I give her a small smile as I pick her from her hips and put her on my lap.

I took in her features. She had big brown eyes and dark brown curly hair. Like Dee. "Where di-"

I was interrupted, making me snap my head at the lady.  "Oh Sky, there yo-" Her eyes widen as her eyes scan me. "Mr Black-Sky come here." 'Sky' got off my lap and walked over to her mum.

"Mr Black, I'm so sorry if my daughter was annoying you." Her voice shakes in fear.

"She was just asking for help to find you." I slightly look down at Sky, hiding behind her mother's legs. "She's adorable," I say as I get up from the bench.

She nods looking down at her child. "Thank you, sir." I give her a tight smile before walking away.

I walk back home, trying to recall what just occurred. I've never reacted to a child coming up to me...That's probably because kids are too scared of my appearance. I acted at the moment quite quick. A rule I've kept within the gang is to NEVER harm children.
