[Chapter 53] Finding Clues

Start from the beginning

She scoffs. "It's a good weapon of choice when you want to send someone on a guilt trip."

I roll my shoulders. "But... I understand what you're saying. I'm just not used to my plans suddenly blowing up in my face."

"I'll admit, it stings," says Melody. "But, that's when you've got to work ten times harder to get what you want. Don't let anyone or anything hold you back. If you don't give up, then you'll never lose."

"Alright, alright," I mumble.

"Now come on." Melody swings her arm around shoulder and nudges me forward. "Let's breathe in this cool, crisp air and get our brain juices flowing."

"Sounds slightly gross, but I'm in." With that, I continue with my stroll through the streets of Storybrooke.

"That's the spirit!" She trails beside me.

I shove my hands into my coat pocket. "Now, walking through Storybrooke was your idea, what are we suppose to think of?"

"I don't know," Melody admits. "Just... whatever comes to mind." She brushes a hand through the ends of her hair. "Look we know that Operation Gorilla isn't going according to plan-"

"Thanks, Captain Obvious."

"I'm not liking this sassy attitude from you, Young Man," Melody scolds. "I'm the one that's suppose to be sassy! And, you're the one that has to calm me down!"

"Well, as my mom likes to call it, I'm going through a teenage phase."

"You better get over it soon, because believe me, I can 1-up the sass meter."

"-Anyways... back to what you were saying?"

"Right. We have to come up with a different game plan. This time with more players on our side."

I turn my head towards her.

"We know we can't do this alone because every idea we come up with leaves us three steps back, and as much as I want to find the answers on my own, I did promise to Killian that I'd start letting people help me." She sighs. "And, I plan to keep my word."

"Good girl," I praise.

She sends me a blank stare. "Yea, yea, I know. Tarza is finally working in a team. But, who knows, maybe some second opinions can do us some good."

"But who's the first person we go to?" I ask. "We can't exactly go to anyone else to tell us what we already know about Sabor and Clayton. The expert on those two is standing right beside me." I move my arms and gesture over to Melody.

She waves her hand at me. "Thank you. Thank you. You're too kind."

I smirk then drop my arms. "However, maybe we can find out how those two wound up in Storybrooke."

"Wouldn't they've come through one of the many curses?" Melody points out.

"Possibly, but it isn't exactly easy getting into this world when you're either dead or living in a different world entirely."

Melody purses her lips and nods.

"There has to be a way they got here."

"But, who would know these sort of things? Whatever those two used, it has to involve some sort of magic that none of us know about. Somebody really has to know a lot about magic to know these things."
