Why the time I was on top of the tree, after struggling for so long to get up next to my window, I realise mt window was locked from the inside. I cuss at myself. For the first time, I needed to break into the house, the window which was always open - was locked.
Think Dee. Think.
I run my hands lightly through my hair and I few bobby pins fall out into my hands. My eyes widen in surprise as I look at my window lock. Nancy Drew would be so proud of me.
"Lord help-" I inst the pin in the lock and jiggle it around until I hear it click. I immediately rush to open it, dropping my pin to the ground without even thinking. I jump in the room and lock the door before I did anything.
I grab my handbag, ruffling inside and emptying it.
My ticket was missing.
"Looking for this sweetheart?" I jump back and turn around.
The murdered of my grandmother, holding my return ticket.
"Give it to me, asshole," I say demanding as if he was going to listen to it. "I don't want to play this game with you!"
"Woah! Grew a backbone. I see how it is." He says walking towards me making me step back every time.
Without a second to hesitate, I run to the door and unlock it.
I heard a triggering click, making my stop in my tracks.
"Turn around, Dee." I hold my breath with my back still facing him. My hands started to shake out of fear. "I said turn fucking around!"
My body turns itself, out of anxiety. My suspicions were true when I see him standing tall with a gun directly pointed at me.
"P-please just let me go." I plead. "I won't tell the p-police or anyone! Just please give me the ticket." I beg him. He walks closer towards me and stops at a position where the sun was hitting his face. I see his eyes turn black as he smirks down at me.
"The only place you'll be going to next...Is a graveyard." He still had the gun pointing at my chest, where if he pulls the trigger, I will die instantly. .
Tears well into my eyes, making my vision go blurry. "Please don't do this," I whisper at him, looking him dead in the eye.
He brings the gun down. "I'm not going to kill you until I make you suffer. Suffer like you used before you spent me off to jail!" He quickly moves the gun slight further away from me and pulls the trigger.
I scream, and bring my hands not my ears, covering them from the deafening shoot. Tears roll down my cheek as my eardrums painfully ring.
The window was my only escape, so I tried to get to it as fast as I could.
Before I could reach my gateway to freedom, I roughly pulled back and slammed onto the floor.
I let out a shakey scream at the impact, hoping someone could hear me other than my father.
I try to sit up back up but there was a direct impact to my nose, winded me out and I hit my head on the floor again. I touch the underneath of my nose as I look up at the blurry figure standing next to my weaker body. Blood began to ooze out from my nose, slowly making this way down to my lips. I cry in pain, tasting my own blood drizzling down.
He gives me a wicked smile before swinging his leg straight in my stomach, throwing me halfway across the room.
I tried fighting back my dizziness but I couldn't. Flashbacks topped my inferior mind and began slowly drown me in terror.
