When I'm With You (REWRITING)

CHAPTER 10

My mother sitting next to me. "You look just like me, baby" She scans my face with her sparkling eyes. My skin was pale and she was wearing a beautiful white gown

She looked like an angel. 

She holds both my hands, bringing me into a hug. "You shouldn't have just left your friends like that. They were going crazy, sweetie. What you did was wrong. You should have told them about everything. I know they would have stopped you from coming because of your dad, but you should have sat down and explained." She slides her finger through my hair gently. 

"You need to remember that I'm always going to be with you, darling." She pulls away from the hug. 

"I love you." 

I open my eyes and break down, realising it was all an illusion. She was never going to come back to me, no matter how hard I tried. 

"You didn't deserve what happened to you, Mummy." I knee down to the gravestone and gave it a kiss

I walk back to my car and sit, staring at the steering wheel in front of me. Today was a horrible day. I witnessed both my parents. 

 I turn my engine on and the small digital clock lights up making me gasp. "Shit!"  I drive to the highest speed I could to get to the community centre to pick up grandma. 

I cruse at myself as I pull up to an empty community centre, making my panic. My pull out my phone and press her home contact, leaving the phone on speaker. 

"Hello?" It was Grandma's voice. 

"Grandma? Where are you?" I say worried about how she got home. 

"Oh, Rayn dropped me off," She laughs. "He was helping out in the centre and gave me a ride home since you weren't picking up your calls." 

I groan in guilt. I'm so bad at taking care of her. 

"Ok. Thank god you're ok! I'll be there in 5." I press the end button and toss my phone onto the passenger's seat. 

I turn into McDonald's which was across the street from the community centre.  After today, I think I need a small treat for making it through the day. 

"Thanks!" I grab the order from her hand, before driving off into the parking lot. I didn't want to go home yet, especially not with fast food in my hand. 

I place the brown bag down on the passager seat. I smile and look up at the car next to me. The car's window was tinted but it was noticeable to see who was inside. 

I slam my hand against my mouth so I don't scream in shock. There is no way in hell- 

"What the fuck is Kaz doing here?!" I whispered to myself as I snap my head away from looking at him through his car window. I quickly ruffle my hair to the side, covering the side of my face. 

I panic as my car roars, as I start my engine. I clench my teeth, hoping he would just ignore it 

Unfortunately, he didn't. 

Kaz looks directly at me through his tinted window, then surprising went back to looking at his phone. 

I put my car in reverse and back my car up as fast as I could. 

I look over at my rear mirror and freak out when I see his car suddenly behind me. "Shit!" I curse 

In the back of my mind, my mother's words repeated. "You shouldn't have just left your friends like that." 

She was right, running from them was only going to create a larger problem. I sigh in defeat and park on the side of the road I was on and slowly removed myself from the vehicle.  

I already knew what's coming for me and I was not ready to be confronted by it.

I lean on towards my car as Kaz pulls up behind me. He gets out the car and stops halfway, looking at me furiously from behind his car door. I gulp as I side-eye him, not giving him my full attention. 

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He says approaching me. "Why the hell did you have to put us in such a stupid position?!" 

I look down onto the concrete road like it was more important. "God Damnit! Answer me!" He shouts, hitting my car, making me flinch again. 

"I-I couldn't do it....Ok?" I try not to tear up. I cry It'll make him look bad and then he'll think I'm. being selfish and a drama queen. 

"Why? Why? WHY?" He still demanded an answer from me. 

"Why are you here?!" I scream in his face, making his eyes widen and he steps back a little. 

"I-I didn't like the fact you were all alone." He says looking down. He looks back up and walks towards me with his eyes full of regret. I was now in between the car and Kaz's body all over again. 

I feel his minty, breath fanned my face as he looked down at me. "All I needed to know was if you were ok. You can't just suddenly leave and expect us to not care about your whereabouts." He says bringing his face close to mine. "Do you understand?" 

Our lips were inches apart from each other. His hands came down to my waist, and he gripped onto them lightly. I let out a shaky breath when his fingers accidentally come in contact with my skin, leaving small tingles lingering around the area.

He was going to kiss me.

I looked down at his lips and everything slowed down. 

I couldn't do this today. Not today. 

I moved my head to the right, making him lightly peek my cheek. His head backed away from mine, as his eyes seemed to burn in desire. The spot he kissed felt warm, releasing small flutters in my stomach. 

 I face back at him in embarrassment. "Kaz-" I begin to remove his gently grip off my waist. 

He backs off a bit. "Fuck. I'm sorry." 

He turns himself around and begins to walk to his car. The roads began to fill up with cars as the working day came to an end. My eyes follow his every step as he gets into his car. 

I couldn't just let him go off. "KAZ! WAIT!" I yell over the noise road traffic. He rolls down the window, and he pops his head at out.  "Follow me. You can stay with me." I say, smiling weakly at him. 

He smirks at me and I knew he was back to himself. One thing I've learned about Kaz in the past week is that no matter what he does, embarrassing or not, he will never hold it against himself. 

"Show me the way, babe," His voice had deepen down, making me blush a little.
