He grabs my arm and punches my stomach. In weakness, I fall to the floor, not bothered to get back up because I knew he would just force me down again.

He was right. I'm good for nothing. I was weak

I was too tired to even cry or even fight. I was just done. I just laid there and wondered and wondered and wondered.

What would have life come to if my Mum was still alive?

I shoot up from the couch, covered in sweat and quiet pants. I look over and see Janyce asleep and drooling all over the pillow.

It happened again. They were coming back.

I look over to the wall, still trying to catch my breath. The clock read 7:35 am, only making me panic more. I have it get to work in an hour.

I walk upstairs to shower. There was no way I was going to serve customers smelling like sweat. I walk into Anthea's room to check if she was there. Her body positioned itself away from me, telling me she was fast asleep. I go to my bedroom, opening the window to let the cold breeze hit my face

Calm. I need to stay calm.

I enter the coffee shop and go to the back. There I'm greeted by my boss, Linda, and some other employees. This was the first job I applied for when we moved. I've grown to love it because it such a great job. You meet new people and see new faces. It just gives you a feeling that you aren't the only person suffering in this cruel world.

"Good Morning, What would you guys like," I say with a genuine smile to the small, happy family in front of me. The father was holding the daily newspaper in his hand, while his wife, playfully spoke with their child.

"Can I get a black coffee with 2 sugars and egg and bacon with toast." The lady says as she whips her short blonde hair to the side.

I feel a tug on my pants. "Can I please have pancakes?" I look down and see a little girl smiling at me. Her big hazel eyes staring into mine. She was so cute!

"Of course, sweetie," I say as I pat her head, making her giggle. I see her mother nod in approval before I wrote it down.

Just as I make my way back to the front counter to place the new order, I hear the bell of the door ring and everyone in the diner went silent.  I frown, turning around and I notice two big bulky men, with tattoos and piercings. It was a frightening sight so I wasn't confused to why everyone went quiet all of a sudden.

They looked really intimidating. Wearing all black and held on emotions on their faces. The Black leather jackets, made noises as they walked over to a booth, far from people.

I look over to my boss and whisper. "Who are they?" I ask confused.

"They're a part of this gang. I think." She explains as her eyes follow them as they walk and sit on a table. She frowns slightly, not wanting trouble from these people.

Gang? In the history of working here, I have not one time since a gang member that looked like them walk in here...Unless they were in disguise.

"Ok, well, I'll go serve the-," I was pulled back immediately.

"They usually just call us. I'll serve them. I don't want them causing trouble, darling. " Linda sounded too serious for my liking. Wow, this gang must be fucking bad.

--------------------------------------------------------------

"Don't worry Linda. I have the spare keys. I'll clean up and lock the cafe." I speak up as she goes to grab her jacket. She nods, waving bye before leaving me in the diner on my own. I continue cleaning up the tables, wiping them down with a lemony freshener spray.

As I finish up, I go to the back and take off my uniform. It was a really long day. I could feel my eyes becoming droopy.

I hear the shop's door open and my heart rate increases, making me snap my head towards the sound.

I stand still for a few seconds before going out and checking who was there. "I'm sorry but -" I look around and see no was here. What the Hell?

Maybe someone was in the toilets and left the shop. I turn back around, shaking my head. I just wanted to go home-

"BOO B-" I scream in horror was my reflexes command me to hit the person directly in the face. "Ah shit, You punch like a fucking man Dee!" I open my eyes and see Jay rubbing is cheek.

I groan at his stupidity. "What the actually fuck is wrong with you?!" I hit him in the chest.

"Nothing really. I was coming back from work and I noticed your car from the roads. Thought I might come in and say hey or something" He says looking over my shoulder and grins like a child. "Also wanted a free coffee."

I sigh and shake my head. He does this quite a lot. I don't get how I haven't gotten caught for giving him free coffee every now and then.

"The milk's in the fridge and the cups are in the dishwasher. Now go and make your damn coffee before I lock you up with the cafe." I rub my eyes with my palm as I lean onto the counter.

He smirks as he hears what he wants and walks off into the kitchen, making a ruckus out of all the items in there.

I lift my head up, slowly falling sleep but I quickly stand up, keeping myself awake.

"Do you think you can make me one too?!"
