[Chapter 45] What's Really Happened to Me

Start from the beginning

With that, I loosen my tense muscles.

Thank goodness we weren't talking to my other mom (Emma), there's no telling if she would've bought the lie.

"So, Henry, what went on with you and your sister?" my mom (Regina) asks.

I grip my hands together while my elbows were resting on my knees as I leaned away from the back of the couch. I stare at the ground below me before I finally turned to face my mom. "Melody was scared that she would hurt me. She tried to get away just to avoid all that."

"I can't imagine," Robin interjects. "I mean, after what happened and what she did, she must've been afraid for everyone's safety. She didn't want to risk anyone getting hurt because of her."

"Exactly."

"We all know that it was an accident but it still messed with Melody, that was clearly obvious."

"That's what I was going to say."

"Well, she shouldn't have been afraid," Zelena comments. "She knew we could've helped her if she was so worried about her magic hurting someone."

"Actually, there was something else that really scared Melody, and I don't know how I felt about it."

"What is it, Henry?"

I open my mouth to respond, but before I could explain what I saw, the front door, again, slams open. This time, however, it was the last person that was a part of the search party. Killian shuts the door behind him before making his way into the group, standing in between Zelena and my mom.

"Is everything alright?" he questions.

My mom nods. "Yes, everything is fine."

"Well, what happened?"

I really didn't mind explaining myself again; it's just only this time it would have to be a brief summary. "I was the one who had found Melody. It was hard to convince her to come back home, but I did it. She was scared that she would hurt me or someone else, and that's why she felt like getting away. She... was worried that she would kill me."

"But, Henry, you know she would never do that," Regina states.

"That's what I told her, but she wasn't so convinced."

"She is a stubborn girl. I'll give her that," says Killian.

"I don't think that's it, Killian." I sigh. "She told me it happened before, and she wouldn't have been able to handle the pain if it happened again."

"What?!"

I could hear a choir of gasps, but other than that, it abruptly grew quiet in the room.

"I can't believe it," said Robin. He was shocked, but he was speaking for everyone else in the room, who held the same disbelief as he did. "She really killed someone before."

"That's what she said."

"I suppose that's a legitimate excuse to be afraid. You wouldn't want somebody else to get killed because of you."

"Henry," Killian starts. "Do you know who Melody killed?"

I shake my head. "I don't think she would ever want to tell me. Whoever it was; it caused her a great deal of pain."
