Chapter 73 (December 20th, 8:36 am, Hunter)

Start from the beginning

Ella starts to giggle and I look to see my fur tickling her skin, my small pink tongue sticking out of my mouth. I look down to see my dog tags gone, my gray and white fur all ruffled and puffed up. Ella places me down in a place area and I slide down the bunny-sized slide.

Ella places my dog tags around my neck. "You had a little nap too I suppose."

I nod my head. "More milk?"

Ella nods and puts a bowl of more warm milk. "I just had my elemental testing."

"Did you pass?"

"With flying colors."

I look down and lap up the milk, my ears pointed up, my fur soft and fluffy while my nose wiggles. After I'm done, I flop down on the fake grass and Ella picks me up, placing me on her bed by her pillows. I turn into my Hybrid form and she looks at me shocked, her mouth wide open.

"What happened to your bang?" Ella asks.

"I cut it off to see better for tomorrow, you like my new hair style?"

She nods. "Well we have a few minutes before the first class of the day so what do you want to do?"

"I never gave you your sword so we could practice before EFTC."

She nods again and I summon my axe in my hand, placing it on Ella's bed and going to the EFTC room. I see her blue sword laying on the desk and I hold it in my hand for a second, it's handle feeling so comfortable in my hand. I walk back to Ella's room and see her inspecting my axe.

---

I left up my axe and bow, Ella doing the same to me, the whole group watching our one on one fight. Her long and pretty wings are stretched out to her sides, her sharp teeth showing as well as her tail flicking back and forth. She looks at me and I feel sorry for her, her eyes showing pain.

She looks like she's about to chicken out.

We start the battle and I charge at her, my weapon of choice in my hand as Ella takes her sword in her mouth. I see her hurt reflect in her eyes and I feel like I shouldn't be attacking her - even if it was training. Still trying to fight her, I spin around in a circle, hoping to graze her scales.

I hear a whimper until I feel my axe being taken out of my hands, Ella taken me by my shirt and carries me to the other side of the battle ring, my axe in her mouth as well. I feel her drop me down gently along with my axe and I smile, she has disarmed me. I reach my hand out and try to congratulate her by rubbing her muzzle but she's gone in a flash.

"Guys, keep on fighting, I have to check what's wrong with Ella," I say as I run out of the room.

As I approach Ella's room, I see a blood trail going coming from the battle room to her room, her sword laying unharmed in front of her door. I open the door and see a thicker blood trail going to her bed littered with bandage wrappings. I check the pool and see nothing except for a tiny ripple.

Suddenly, I feel something rub against my leg and when I look down, I see a tiny dragon nestled up to my foot. I pick it up and see a bunch of scales slowly coming off, each one feeling soft unlike the stereotype hard and razor sharp scales. Ella hides her face with a wings and balls up, her pretty scales shimmering in the light.

"It's ok, you can talk to me, you can trust me," I say, rubbing her wings.

Ella starts to whimper and I place her on her bed. "Come on Ella, you know I had to do it."

I see purple blood start to run down her sides, the blood coming from the patch of missing scales. I take a piece of cloth and wrap it around her, trying to stop the blood flow from getting onto her sheets. Ella starts to shake and I see her tail flicking back and forth.

"It's ok. I'll take you back to the battle room so you can get some down time while still teaching. Just calm down."

Ella starts to go into Hybrid form and I see the pain in Ella's eyes, her mouth struggling to keep shut from the yells that try to escape her. I pick her up and throw her over my shoulder, Ella yelping before she starts crying. I sprint to the battle room and go to the first aid, Ella still pouring out blood from what seems like her shoulder.

The same shoulder that's been injured twice.

I grab Josie and Lahela to tend to Ella while I talk to Ella, trying to keep her hopes up as I hold her hand. "It's going to be fine, just relax and it will be good as new," I say as Ella nods, Lahela ordering me to get Josie's mom.

Hi guys! I've been having writers block and it's tough but since I already have a rough draft, I could get through it. I'm not going to be able to update as quickly for a few months but I will still update. As said, there are only 10-15 chapters left in Spark but don't fear - I'm already working on Ignite. As a refresher, last chapter, Ella got over her illness and went on a recuse mission with Hunter for his future self.

Qotc: Why do you think Hunter thinks he deserves to be in this situation?
