I stood on the grass with the slight breeze going through my hair, my hair blowing behind me like my scarf did. The sun was not yet but the red-pinkish warm glow was starting to be seen, breaking up the night sky. I sat down on one of the benches outside the meeting building and waited for Maddie and Gaby to show up.

The cold wasn't getting to me due to me having a heavy-duty jacket on and that fireplace in the building had a nice fire going that I could feel. I heard the holiday music from the radio inside and it made me feel happy that I was here, right now, about to do something that Hunter didn't tell me yet. I just hoped it wasn't dangerous or made me feel weird or anything to that nature.

"Well the machine is ready for the upgrade and Maddie and Gaby should be here any minute now," Hunter says sitting down by me.

Wait, what upgrade?

"What upgrade," I ask as I look at Hunter.

"It's not going to hurt but your mind-control powers are going to be upgraded so that when your Evolution comes, you won't have more stress," Hunter says.

"What machine is it in?"

"It's in a new machine that Zachary gave to me, he brought another one though, wonder what it does."

"Oh, at least it's not the lightning machine, boy do I not want to go through that again."

For a minute, all is silent, with only the small noise coming from the breeze and the sound of the leaves blowing. It was a perfect fall day, with the sun rising, and the slight breeze blowing. All was good.

Just then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, a feeling that felt like my blood had been heated to a million degrees. My blood in my arm glowed neon blue and my back ached, the pain overwhelming me, eating me alive with fear. I ran to the other side of the building, only hoping it wasn't bad and no one could see me.

I sat down on the grass and closed my eyes, not wanting to see what happened next, fearing it would be bad. But after a minute or two, I felt no pain any more, and with that I opened my eyes to see a pair of wings, folded across my face and body, letting no one see my face. I must be in my Hybrid form, not all the way in Swimmer nor in my human form.

"Ella, Gaby and Maddie are here, where are you," Hunter sends to me.

"Well my Hybrid form took over me but I'm on the other side of the building, with my wings covering me up," I send.

"Ok, I'm walking over with the rest of them," Hunter sends.

I fly up and see Hunter and the others walking over to where I was so I land beside them. They all turn and see me as I try to hide in the trees but I'm forced back. "H-hope you guys don't mind me in my Hybrid form, I-I have no control over it," I say putting my head down.

"Ella, we all don't mind, it's not you who did this, it's Gilbert who did this to you. No one is perfect you know," Gaby says while the others hug me.

"Let's go inside," I say as I finally control my Hybrid form and turn back in my Human form.

As we walked inside, Maddie was talking about her favorite book series, Warrior cats, with Hunter while Gaby and me were talking about how the four of us could be another powerhouse of the group. I looked to my left to see the lightning machine, which gave everybody in the group besides me and Hunter powers. And besides that was the machine that Hunter was talking about, the new one Zap or Zachary brought us.

Everyone sat down at the table in the middle of the room, ending their convos as soon as Hunter sat down.

"Well, today one of the first members in our little group will have her secondary power upgraded from level 1 to level 2 and she will be a tester in a new machine that simulates your thinking. I, Hunter, herby proclaim Ella's mind control powers will be upgraded," Hunter says.

Everyone claps and signals for me to talk.

"Well thank you for the great intro into this meeting leader, but ever since that one day, that one August 15th day, my life has meant something to me and it couldn't mean a thing to me then with your help," I say.

"Well I think it's time now to get upgraded, Ella. Any last words of advice before she goes in to the machine," Hunter asks.

"It looks like the TARDIS in there," Maddie says.

I stand up along with Hunter and walk to the pinkish-yellowish, cube-like machine with a control panel in the front. The machine made a breeze like noise and had a purple-blue mist when you stepped into it. It felt so nice.

I flashback to a few minutes before, remembering what happened when I felt nice and cooling. I hoped it didn't happen again but the first symptom of the storm came, my blood started to heat up, then came the neon blue glowing blood similar to what also happened a few days ago. Was that a warning sign?

Hunter presses a few buttons and then a feel a wire connect to my forehead. I see Hunter pop his head in.

"The machine is going to place you in places by your feelings so for example, if you feel calm, it might place you in a field of flowers or by a river," Hunter says as he closes the door.

Well almost closes the door.

Hunter pops his head in again, looking at me, silent. "Hunter are you alright," I ask.

"What? Oh. Yea," he says spoked as he closes the door.
