Chapter 2 (november 13-14th, ella)

I sit in my reading class, my teacher talking about the monkey's paw in a story about wishes when the ground shakes. Everybody runs under their desks as I am pinned against the wall, my troop form coming out. My friend Gaby pins me to the wall, her nature powers at work, overthrowing my water powers. Gaby swings vines at me which whip me in the face, cutting my cheek.

But I don't feel the pain that should be there.

To my surprise, I wake up drenched in sweat, a group of people at my side. I sit up and rub my cheek, feeling no cuts or scars as the kids look at me with confused looks on their faces. Ava looks at me as she glitches, her hair starting to turn pink before she starts to talk to me.

"Nightmare?" Ava asks me as she gives me water.

"Yea. How could you tell?" I ask.

"One, you were glitching like crazy. Two, you were screaming. Three, your drenched in sweat."

"Well that's just peachy."

"Oh Hunter said to tell you that you can start war for us when you wake up. He also said to be careful," Isabella, Ava's sister, says as I sigh.

"Always worried about his only co-leader. Also just peachy."

I stand up and stretch as my eyes wonder around the room, seeing the kids around my age shaking their heads. Slowly I open the portal with my hand and scan the room again, seeing whose the most responsible. My eyes land on my friend Colleen along with Ava.

"While I'm going to go get my iPad, I want you all to be careful however Colleen and Ava should watch over everybody," I say sheepishly. "If one of them leaves, Brianna and Maddie can take over."

At my house, I use my flashlight on my phone as Reese jumps out of nowhere on top of me, clinging onto me as someone would do to a phone. I start to scream but Reese mutes my voice by placing a pillow in front of my mouth, making me mute. As my anger boils, the portal starts to glow and I glitch, letting my mind reach out to Reese's and control her to get off my back.

"What do you want!" I demand Reese to answer through telepathy, standing up.

"I want you to suffer," she sends back as scales form on my neck. "I deleted that app on your iPad."

I growl until I see her laugh, her hand on her chest and her bending over. I start to remember she doesn't know my password. Instantly I feel my glitch phase fade and I take my iPad from my charger.

"Ella, don't you know that Supercell knows about us or your group?" Reese asks as she pulls me back. "Master told them."

"No they don't. Reese, don't be delusional," I say as I see her eyes spin. "I'm going to go now since I shouldn't be awake at 1:49 am east coast time."

As I open the portal, I hear Reese whisper "Supercell knows your secret, 457" as she pushes me into the portal.

I pant as I land on the soft bed in the meeting building, the bed surrounded by shades of blue and a pool. I go into my troop form and dive into the water, scales covering me while my wings and tale propel me. As I sink to the bottom, I push water away from me and create an air bubble.

What was Reese talking about?

Why was Reese in my room? Shouldn't she be home, sleeping in her bed?

Who was "Master?"

Why did Reese's eyes spin?

Slowly I fly out of the water after a few minutes and shake the water off, changing into my normal form. I open the portal and look at it, the portal spinning pink and purple like something out of a sci-fi movie. Shaking my head, I grab my iPad and hop in.
