I started to run out of the room but Zap held me back, trying to force me watch the pain take over Ella all the way, her eyes glazing over as she stares into a void of nothingness, her body frozen in what seems like an invisible freezer, only her breathing continues to move. She soon starts to blink as I try to hide, trying to close her eyes using my mind as she starts to kick her feet. I free her using my mind as I run out of the room and hide in my room, making a force field around my room.
"Hello, can I come in?" Ella asks as she looks into my room, her voice sounding like an eight year old.
"Not right now Ella, I'm kinda upset about what my brother did to you," I say as I look up from some cleaning I missed.
"Maybe we can talk it out, it might make you feel better."
I lower my force field and let her in, noticing that both of her eyes are brown but they seem dull, almost lightly drawn on to her, making me start to tear up. She comes over to me and sits down, her eyes starting to question everything in her sight. I sit down and try not to show sadness at what remains of Ella, yet I fall short of my goal.
"So whats your name," Ella asks as I start to put my face in my hands. "If it doesn't hurt you to say."
"Ella, your not like this, your memories were wiped by my brother for five minutes and I'm only 40% done with the five minutes, but he said that you wouldn't remember anybody, not even me."
"I'm sorry for aski-"
"It's ok Ella, I'm Hunter, I'm one of your closest friends, I also kinda have a crush on you too."
"O-ok," Ella says as she starts to blush before her eyes start to move side to side. "Why can I see your memories Hunter?"
"Oh, it's nothing, you just are growing into your powers before they merge into one of your other form's power."
"Ok."
"I just want you to calm down, everything is going to be ok," I say before she falls asleep against the wall.
---
I scan my hand as some bleed drops from my fingertip as Ella does the same as she starts to pant, her power taken out of her for a showing all of our powers fighting each other in Hybrid form without any differences, but only for a few seconds. I sit right beside Ella as I look through the window, seeing two flashes of light clash in front of my eyes. "I'm glad I'm back to 'normal,'" Ella says with her memories back, herself trying to stop blood flow out of her finger.
"I'm glad too," I say getting two band aids from out of my pocket. "Zap told me to bring them."
"Thanks, I really want to try out my new powers though. What did I get?"
"Well when your in Hybrid form your wings and tale change color with emotion along with shrinking powers, and in all forms you can run 24 mph along with increased speed and health."
"Nice, I'm going to try to use my shrinking powers now," Ella says as she changes into her Hybrid form, her wings showing a glowing golden yellow color as she starts to shrink down to an inch.
"Good job," I say as I pick her up.
"Thanks, can you put me on the ground because I need to grow back," she says as the there's a knock on the door.
I place Ella back on the ground as she starts to grow back, both of us looking at each other. We both go into our human forms before Ella switches into her Hybrid form and shrinks down. I see her eyes start to move side to side as I start to notice a pattern, every time she does that, she's using her Hybrid power.
"It's Josie out there," she says as she lands on my shoulder.
"How did she get here?"
"Remember she's Ms.Katt's daughter, she could of used her mother's hand to open up the portal."
"Or Ms.Katt could of sent her on a mission before the meet, remember that all group mates can feel when someone enters the portal world."
"Should we open the door and let her in?"
"I'm going to let her in, you go into your room and change back into your normal self while I'll open the door."
I see Ella fly to her room as I walk up to the door, shaking as I start to hear movement in the room to my right where my future self was sleeping. Turning the cold door handle, I take a deep breath in, trying to calm myself down as my left hand starts to shake. I look outside as I open the door and see Josie, her ice blue eyes looking at me as she walks in without saying a word, a briefcase bouncing off her thigh.
"Is Ella here?" Josie asks as she places her briefcase on the table were I ate breakfast this morning.
"Yea, she is," I reply as Josie eyes me.
"You don't have to be nervous leader."
I raise an eyebrow. "Oh so who let you into the portal world?"
"My mother did thank you very much."
"I'm here," Ella says as she walks out to see Josie.
"I have something important to tell both of you and some others if anyone else is here," Josie says as she opens the briefcase, Zap walking into the room.
"Hunter you left the door open," Zap says as I close the door, the cold winter air blowing into my face.
---
"So Hunter, hows it like being a Hybrid for so long of a time?" Ella asks as Josie goes into Ella's room, Ella whispering to me.
"I forget that I'm one sometimes but that's bad," I say as I start to mess with Ella's hair.
"Sometimes I want to be in my Hybrid form so I can fly away from my problems that Im facing."
"Then shrink down and fly away, but make sure to come back," I say as I start to feel dizzy until a lot of different memories are flashed in my mind.
"Do you understand now why I can't," Ella says in my ear as she lands on my shoulder, her wings beating against my neck like a hummingbird.
"Yea, hows the world down there?"
"Big but not really since I'm viewing it as my normal size not really."
"Hey, Josie is coming back so you might want to go back to normal," I say holding Ella as she flies out the chimney. "I'll never understand her."
I sigh and sit down when Josie comes back, Josie wearing a jacket while I wear an orange T-Shirt and jeans. She looks around till she shakes her head, myself getting dizzy till I start to see some more memories from Ella. I hear a knock on the door so I go and open it to she Ella, her hands freezing. I instruct her to sit by the fireplace as I create a fire for her, her eyes lightly locking on mine. "Thanks," she says as she moves closer to the fire, the fire glowing off her face.
"No problem Ella," I say as I go back to Josie who is waiting impatiently.
"Thanks for saving my friend, Jenny yesterday morning," Josie says. "She needed to get out of that place. Anyway can I join the clan?"
"Don't see why not, Ella do you agree?"
"Sure," Ella yells from where she is sitting.
"What element do yo-" I try to say before Josie starts to cut me off.
"I already have a power, I can read stuff out of books. So I should see you at the meet?"
"Yes, we shall be going to go back into the real world now," I say as I grab Ella's and Josie's arms as Zap comes in and grabs Josie's arm as the portal opens.
