Spark (Under Editing and Updating)

Chapter 66 (December 18th, 5:06 pm, Ella)

I nestle in Hunter's lap, warmth filling me up as I flip my ears over my eyes, trying to hibernate. Hunter strokes me, my whole mind feeling so good along with my bunny body, my soft little puffy tail twitching. I feel myself being picked up and put on someone's stomach. I ball up and start to sleep, going into REM instantly.

I see myself as I bunny as I look around in my dream, a pair of white stairs with what seems to be the most comfortable bed in the world with food for me on the top. I smile and hop up the stairs, my ears flopping up and down as I make my way up to the bed with food. Once I'm at the top, I flop down and tuck my head into my paws, my energy level down so much that I don't know if I can make it to the bed.

Then I remember the food.

If I can get to the food, I can refuel, I think, my tiny stomach growling, my mind feeling really heavy.

I hop over to the hay and start to nibble on it, my stomach feeling better, it's little growls being hushed. I hop over to the milk and lap it up, it's warmth making me full but sleepy, making my whole body heavy. Noticing small stairs to the bed, I hop up them slowly and the sheets on the bed retract for me. I ball up and the sheets cover me up, laying over me.

As I close my eyes, I start to see memories flood back to me, mostly all the memories happy and cheerful. I smile as I fall asleep in my own dream, not worrying about possibly going into a coma-like state of mind and body.

For the next few minutes, I sleep peacefully, everything worrying me floating away like clouds. I dream about being in a meadow, being free to hop around and eat the wild grasses and flowers. I dream about flying in the sky, my big wings feeling graceful, the clouds feeling easy to pass right through them. And lastly, I dream about being in a forest with big trees, my instincts telling me to land on the tree for a butterfly hibernation.

I open my eyes and see I'm on Hunter's stomach, his heartbeat slow and heavy, his eyes closed. I smile and hop over to Hunter's collarbone, hoping onto the ground and tucking myself in the hole his head and collarbone make. Lifting a paw up, I bat Hunter's ear and he sits up, not noticing me at all.

"Who was tha-," Hunter says before I start to giggle, hoping into Hunter's lap. "How was your hibernation?"

"Best hibernation ever. How long was I out?" I ask.

"Well it's almost 5:30 so around 20 minutes."

"Wow."

Hunter picks me up and cradles me, straighten my ears so they won't hurt as he stands up. He walks out of the room and to the kitchen where he gives me a few vegetables and a bowl of milk. After I'm done, he takes me to the stage room and we go into the room behind the stage to see Zap questioning Gaby. With Gaby facing the other way we came in, Hunter quickly puts me down and tells me to change into Hybrid form. Once I'm done, he tells me to use the identity merger and change into Colleen.

Zap gets up and pulls up two more chairs, instructing me and Hunter to sit down beside him. I make direct eye contact with Gaby and shield by mind away from her mind reading powers and Hunter and Zap do the same thing. I feel my wings fall to my side and my tail wrap around the chair leg, trying not to give myself up.

"My brother has told me that you have been avoiding giving the simple answers to our questions," Hunter said as he ran a hand through his hair. "Which means we have to amplify the manner of how we are going to question you in."

"I thought we were friends - best friends. Why did you betray me like that?" I ask, Colleen's voice coming out, my mind trying to connect to Gaby's. "Why?"

"It was a mistake like I've said a hundred times before!" Gaby replied, my empathy powers trying to work under pressure by my defensive shield.

"Right... why did you purposely look around before going into the cabin?" Zap asked.

"I was under mind control!"

I shake my head and I see Hunter look at me, his elbow locking with mine, power rushing into my body. I see him look back at Gaby and he telekinetically slams her against the wall, signaling me to try my empathy powers. When I connect to her mind, I switch all of her emotions to sadness and guilt. Hunter smiles and dismisses me and him from the room, leaving Zap to question her.

I turn into a butterfly and fly up to Hunter's head, my antenna curling up and my wings flapping very slowly when I land. Hunter walks into his room and I fly to the habitat, Hunter joining me as a butterfly. I land on a flower and taste the pollen using my antenna, it tasting like paradise.

I turn my head to see Hunter nibbling on a leaf, his bright and flamelike wings on his sides. I giggle, noticing a necklace with a butterfly around my fragile neck, a dog tag with a butterfly craved out around Hunter's. Hunter looks up at me and flutters up, his antenna slightly curved.

"I heard from my brother that him and Josie are going to let us do a little more EFTC to get used to our new forms," Hunter says as I frown. "What's the matter?"

"We're experiments, Hunter. We are being pushed around and being told what to do while being tested for our DNA," I say as Hunter frowns, placing two of his arms around me, my fanlike wings now folded in.

"That's not always the truth, we're treated with the respect of normal people. I know you love to be held and cradled when your a bunny and everybody will do what you want if you ask them. Me, I been having cravings for vegetables, grass, leaves, and flower pollen and if I ask for any one of them, some people will be more then happy then to give me them on a big tray."

Hunter flies out and goes into Hybrid form, placing his hand right beside me, allowing me to walk into it. He holds me up to eye level, his yellow specks in his eyes almost flickering on an orange background. Josie comes in and Hunter places me down on his head, his hair so soft.

"Are we ready to begin?" Josie asks as I put down my wings, Hunter nodding his head. "Ella?"

"Can I not do this?" I ask. "I don't like this idea."

"Shh, it's going to be fine. It's not like Josie is purposely trying to hurt you," Hunter says.

"Yea, I promise that you can have some alone time if you want to," Josie replies as I flutter down onto the floor, changing into my Hybrid form. "And after you go into bunny form, I'll have a little surprise for you."

"Then let's begin," I reply.

Why did I agree to this?

I lay down in the tunnels under my floor, my wings folded on to my sides, my tail curled up around me. I didn't want to be forced into going into my troop form, I mean I was used to it by now. Something touches me and I flinch, it picking me up as I try to whip my tail at it.

"Shh, it's ok. It's just me," Zap says while I let out timid dragon roars.

Zap places me down by Hunter, his double sided axe beside him along with some chicken and popcorn. Hunter lures me over by taunting me with the chicken, my nose smelling the rich and greasy scent. I sit down in his lap and stretch my wings out, my muscles aching.

Josie comes in and I freeze, Hunter patting the top of my head before placing me on his head. I open my mouth and yawn, my razor sharp teeth showing as I see Josie back up, my teeth frightening her. I lay down and ball up, my feelings hurt from my best friend's behavior. I let out gentle roars and I feel a hand stoke my back and wings, my voice box letting out almost purr-like sounds.

"Since Ella was hiding for almost 10 minutes and we got our technology working, we are going to ask you to be bunnies," Josie says as I un-ball up, my head now poking out of Hunter's dark orange hair. "And it might be beneficial for both of you two to sleep when you are bunnies because in order to make the surprise come true, we have to do some blood work which might hurt a little."

Hunter places me down and I quickly shift from my troop to Hybrid to bunny form, my fur fluffed up. Hunter hops over to me and I ball up, flopping my ears over my eyes and nestle myself.
