Koe opened his eyes. He was terrified. He couldn't move and felt like he was going to explode from the pressure that surrounded him. Rough hands grabbed at him but he couldn't swat them away.
"W-wh-what's g-going on...?" He tried to scream but it came out as more of a strangled whisper.
Why is this happening!?!? He thought, hoping that some how, some way some one could hear.
Then he saw it. It was hanging from the ceiling swaying in front of him. It made him sick to his stomach, this... THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! NOT ON MY BIRTHDAY! NO! He screamed in his head. He couldn't believe what he saw. He felt like he was going to throw up...
"C-Chuchoter!" He yelled, it came out like a croak but it was still loud.
The girl had hung herself. But It.... it... it's not real... right? Nothing like this should ever happen on some ones birthday. So it has to just be a nightmare. Right?
The image began to fade as he woke up.
Tears streamed down his face.
"What's wrong?" His brother was standing over him, he had probably been the one that woke him up.
"It... it was just a dream...?" Koe completely ignored his brother, and instead began to talk to himself.
"Koe? Koe snap out of it!" Sphintus yelled in his face with a worried look in his eyes. When did he get here? Koe thought to himself.
"What...?" Koe said, just barely above a whisper.
"Why were you crying?"
"I was sad." Koe replied with more meaning in his voice than ever before.
"Why?" Sphintus asked.
"Because... Chuchoter..." Wait... Chuchoter? Who is... he finally realized her name. The reason he always had to say it, was because it was her name. But.. it was to late. She was gone now.
No... she... she isn't gone... he refused to believe it. And he might just be right.
A few hours later his brother gave him a toasted bagel with a birthday candle stuck in it.
"Happy 17th Koe!"
Then Koe gave Sphintus a cookie with a bow on it.
"You too!" He was still sad about the dream, but he was happy to have Sphintus there. He always made Koe feel better, always.
