I look at the two of them, completely dumbfounded. "Are you serious?"
"Of course," Snow adds, "I mean, we've already gone to a ball, and you two know how much fun they are. And since Henry is a part of this family and is from our world-"
"He technically isn't" I add.
"I know, but in a way he is. Anyway, it should only be fair that he experience something from our world, like a ball dedicated just for him. Plus, it would be a great way to get everyone to put their minds off of the crazy events that have happened."
It suddenly grew quite between the four of us with neither Henry nor I responding to their proposal. Before I had the chance to reject their idea, Henry speaks up, "I think that's a great idea."
I look at him. "Really, kid. You want to do it."
"Yea, I've always wondered what it would be like to have a 'Royal Ball' here in town; plus, one in my honor, why not?"
"A Royal what in whose honor?" Another voice asks. All of us turn to see Regina standing beside the table. She brushed her hand against Neal's soft cheek and he gurgles at her touch, making her smile.
"Oh, grandma and grandpa want to throw me a Ball for my birthday, Mom," answers Henry.
"Oh."
"It was just an idea," Mary Margaret says. She was already embarrassed of her foolish idea.
"Well, I think it's a brilliant idea."
"Really?!" Henry says, clearly ecstatic.
"Well, it's only fair that my son has a Ball dedicated to him. After all, he is a prince." She chuckles. "So, what should we start planning?" By this time, she, as well as the rest of the group, was already in full-on planning mode for Henry's (now) extravagant birthday party, while I, on the other hand, sat in the sidelines. Between their conversations, I was already lost in the first few seconds.
I lean closer to Henry. "So, you really want to go through with this?" I whisper.
"Yea. It should be a lot of fun."
"Alright. Whatever you say."
With that, the door-bell rings, once again, and I feel a quick tap on my shoulder. I quickly turn, startled, only to find my mischievous boyfriend, Killian, standing behind me. He smirks as he rests his arms on top of the head of the booth chair.
"Hello, Love. I thought I would find you here," he says, eying me down with his gorgeous blue eyes.
"Was there any doubt at all??" I question.
"Not at all."
I look back at the group around me then I look back at him. "I think we should get out of here."
"Weren't you having lunch with Henry?"
"Yea, but..." I glance back at Henry seeing as he was in the middle of chatting with his mother and grandparents. He must have forgotten that I was around, though I don't mind. I'm glad he's happy about his upcoming birthday for once. With that, I look back towards Killian. "I think Henry won't mind if I decide to head out little early. He seems busy."
With that, I slide out of my seat. Luckily, David had moved out of his spot next to me so I was able to get out with ease. I lock arms with the mischievous pirate as he leads me out of Granny's Diner. Once outside the restaurant, I was met with a cooling breeze. Today was a perfect day for a stroll across town.
