His Rise To Fame (a Nash Grier story)

Chapter 10

Nash Grier P.O.V.

Half way through the movie I realized Evelyn lied down. She was like that for a few minutes with no sound. I checked on her and she was asleep. All of asunder she curled up next to me. I layed down and wrapped my arm around her. She was curled in a ball and I wrapped my body around her.

I remember falling asleep because I was playing with Eve's hair. I woke up to a little giggle. I opened my eyes slowly to see Evelyn wide awake and starring at me. I couldn't help but stare back. She is just so perfect.

"What's so funny?" I ask.

"Nothing. I just laugh when I'm nervous. It's an instinct I guess." She says.  I smile. She is taping my nose and playing with my hair.

"So why are you nervous Eve?" I ask her.

"Because we've never been this close before and I kinda like it." Evelyn says and she blushes.

"I do too." I tell her. She looks away and I gently touch her chin and being back to look at me. I was leaning in the kiss her when the door opened and Hayes came running in and Evelyn fell off the bed.

"OH MY GOD! Evelyn are you okay?" I ask jumping up. That was no answer.hayes is standing there speechless. I whisk through the blankets to find s laughing ball of Evelyn on the floor having a spaz attack. I couldn't help but laugh at the child in her.

"Hayes what do you want?" I ask Hayes after I help Evelyn up.

"Mom wanted to know if Evelyn was staying for dinner. But I think I already know th answer from what I walked in on." Hayes started moving his eyebrows like a creep.

"Can you tell your mother that I would be delighted to stay for dinner?" She asked Hayes. She is so polite and cute when she what's to be. I love that in her.

"Sorry about Hayes. He still hasn't learned how to knock and he's 14. Teaching him how to knock was like potty training him, it's impossible." We bust out laughing again. We both fall on each other. We lay on the ground.

"Evelyn I was meaning to ask you something before." I say. I'm a nervous wreck.

"Yeah. What is it Nash?" She asks.

"Well I was kind of maybe sort of wondering if you would." I couldn't finish.

"Yes Nash. I would love to." She kisses my cheek and walks out of my room.

Hoy crap. I'm going on an actual date with Evelyn. I have to tell the guys but I need to eat dinner first. All through dinner I could get the smile off of my face.

"Nash why are you so happy?" My mom asked.

"I think I know why?" Hayes buds in.

"Oh do you now Hayes. Please enlighten us." His mom said.

"Well Nash planned on asking Evelyn on a date and I'm guessing by his stupid clown grin she said yes." Hayes said.

"Oh, Nash is this true." My mom says.

"Yes. Mrs. Grier. Nash asked me on a date and I accepted." She said smiling.

"Well that's wonderful. I'm happy for you. Now if Hayes could only get a girl friend that would be great." My mom said laughing. We all laughed along. This really is going to be the best summer ever!

When dinner was finished I helped Evelyn get her stuff together. We didn't talk much. I didn't like it. Things are usually never this quiet between us. We go downstairs and Evelyn leaves.

" thank you for having me over and thank you for dinner Mrs. Grier. Bye Hayes. Bye Sky." She waved to them. I walked her outside.

"It's beautiful isn't it." She says.

"Yeah it is." I don't know if Eve was looking at the starts or the moon all I knew was that I was looking at her and that's beautiful to me. She looks up at me. Our eyes lock. I lean in to kiss her but

"Nash I'm sorry. I just I can't kiss you. I'm not ready yet." She starts crying and runs away. I never even got a chance to say goodbye. I go back inside and lock myself in my room. I take a picture down from my drawer. It's of me and Evelyn at the school fair. She looked so happy and beautiful like always. I knew this was a mistake. I throw the picture at the wall and the glass cracks right in the middle of the two of us.
