Realizing

2035

Aidan

Valencia has told me that she has never listened to music.

I was surprised. Then, realization struck.

She doesn't remember. She thinks it has been nine years. She has taught herself how to read. She does not remember listening to music ever. She doesn't remember.

That fact breaks me.

I kept things from her, how I learned how to dance, that Sina taught me one evening after a long training session, I even let Valencia believe that me and Sina were together.

I'm not ready to tell her everything, some things deserve to be kept quiet.

The afternoon turns into evening when the rain finally stops.

We are finally able to continue, but continuing at night in the darkness would be a useless struggle. We barely managed to navigate ourselves through the dark subway tunnel - the tunnel that was dark in the daylight. Now, it is nighttime, and the subway tunnel would be even darker.

We need to wait this night through and continue tomorrow.
