196.Fake tears

Eunbi and Sandara both were dumbfounded seeing the cold and arrogant behavior of Lalisa. She never had talked to them in this tone.

Eunbi gritted her teeth in anger, 'Since when this scaredy-cat started to roar like a tiger? Hmph, does she think behaving like this she could become the real Empress of the Jeong Dynasty? She is just an unwanted empress who was forced upon Jeongguk and nothing else.'

She looked at Lalisa and said innocently, "Sister, what are you doing? How can you talk in this way to Mother?"

"I know you're the Empress but she is our Mother. We should respect our elders. How can you behave in this way to Mother." she tried to be the filial daughter in law as she spoke for Sandara.

Lalisa raised her eyes seeing the melodrama by Eunbi.

At this moment, she felt like she was missing popcorns. If she had popcorns then she would sit back and watch this melodrama whose script is written by Eunbi.

Sandara was touched by Eunbi's words as she looked at her with gentleness in her gaze, "Stop it Eunbi. You should not expect anything from these people who know nothing about respect. After all, she is not from a respectable background like you."

"So how can she learn manners and etiquettes when she only learned to fight and behave crudely. Just carrying the tag of Empress, one cannot become the Empress itself." Sandara glared at Lalisa and ridiculed her.

Jeongguk wanted to stop his mother but before saying anything he looked at Lalisa.

There was a slight smile on her face. It's like she doesn't care what they were saying.

His brows furrowed as he tried to figure out what's going on in her mind?

Lalisa smiled brightly and said, "Eunbi. You said you came to ask about my health right? You were worried about my health right?" she asked her calmly.

Eunbi flustered at Lalisa's sudden question.

She has no idea what Lalisa was implying. She turned to look at Sandara hesitantly as she replied, "Yes. I wanted to check on you as I heard that you were sick. I was very worried about you." she said dubiously.

Lalisa looked at her and gave her a bright smile as she said, "Hmm, I am fine. You don't need to worry about me."

Eunbi looked at Lalisa suspiciously. That's it?

'Doesn't she wanted to say anything? I thought she will clarify her words but is that it?'

Before Eunbi could say anything, she continued, "Last night, when I fainted, his highness stayed here for the whole night. He has taken good care of me because of which I can stand in front of you. It doesn't hurt at all." she said shyly.

Sandara looked at Lalisa suspiciously.

Eunbi looked at Lalisa in frustration.

She didn't come to know about her health but she wanted to show her real place so that she won't dare to go near to Jeongguk again.

But why does it seems that things were not going her way?

Lalisa smiled seeing the flustered expressions of Eunbi as she continued, "Mother you don't need to worry about my health at all."

"His highness was here with me all night. He didn't go back to his chamber because he wanted to stay with me to take care of me. I told him that it's fine but...he denied to go back and insisted on staying here." she said with her subtle eyes as she turned to look at Jeongguk lovingly.

Jeongguk was surprised to see the gentle look in her eyes.

Eunbi's blood boiled as she heard Lalisa's words.

Lalisa was laughing inwardly as she saw the tensed and annoyed expressions of Eunbi.

'Haha. I am loving it. Now let me show you bi*ch how to annoy other people.' Lalisa snickered inwardly.

Sandara looked at Lalisa as her expressions stiffened. She doesn't like her and doesn't want Jeongguk to spend time with her.

She wanted the successor of the Ji dynasty to be born by Eunbi so that she could peacefully give the position of Empress Dowager in safe hands.

She annoyedly looked at Lalisa and spoke, "What rubbish are you talking about? Did I ask anything about your health? I don't care if you die or not. " she said irritatingly.

Lalisa smiled and said, "But mother, didn't you both came in the early morning because you were worried about my health? You guys didn't even bother to knock or ask for permission before entering into the room." she said innocently.

"What was all this for? If not for my health then why did you come this early here? " she asked her as she narrowed her eyes.

Sandara became silent when she heard her words.

They indeed had told that they came here to ask about her health but mistakenly she has spoken her true feelings towards Lalisa.

Lalisa didn't give her time to make excuses and spoke, "Mother. I thought you came here because you were worried about me. But I never expected that you don't even care if I die or not." she said with a frown on her face.

She looked like she will cry any minute. Her eyes were welled up as her voice trembled.

'Hah. Do you think only you know how to fake tears?' she sneered inwardly.

'But why the hell they are not felling? Aish, I have stared at their faces for so long without even blinking just to gather tears in my eyes but why aren't they falling?' she felt helpless when her tears stuck in her eyes.
