June 2nd Effective Power/Good Bye for Now

Salut,

There's a new hack type thing spreading like the plague, its called effective power.

You twitter-ers may have already heard of it, and its on the news nowadays so you might have heard it there too.

So basically, effective power is series of arabic letters and some random symbols that when put in a specific order and sent in a text will actually shut down your device.

It will force your device to reboot involuntarily and you will be left pissed off and extremely concerned for your device's well being. There's a picture of it ^

Please do not do this as some say its a bug that could compromise your devices security.

On an apple device, turn off your imessage notifications to avoid the possibility of getting effective powered down. Its under

settings>notifications>message>turn off "allow notifications"

This will stop you from getting ANY notifications, so its at your own risk.

Not sure what to do for other devices..SORRY.

Anyways. This may be my last update for this month of 2015.

I've got some big fat ugly exams coming up and wattpad is becoming a distraction again, just like last semester.

AND it will be Ramadan in 16 days!

In short, Ramadan is a very special month for muslims. Its when we fast (abstain from eating or drinking) from dawn dill dusk (sunrise to sunset) for 29 or 30 days. There are many reasons we fast, one of them being that we are obligated to, and another that it also reminds us to value food and help those in poverty.

Ramadan is based on the lunar calendar and due to the fact the islamic calendar is about 1 month shorter than the Gregorian calendar (I think), the time of Ramadan changes each year. It moves up about 10 days (I think again...)

So yeah, that was your pre-Ramadan crash course.

And at the end of Ramadan, there is Eid-ul-Fitr and I don't exactly know what that means but I hope my muslim buddies will include that in the comments.

It is the 1/2 Eids that we celebrate.

Now I hope I'm not boring you so I'll stop.
