The day he spent out of town was supposed to be a day spent with Cassie so she could educate him in all things that had to do with him being an omega.

And while he did learn about the meds that could help him and knew where to find them, he actually learned next to nothing other than that. As it turns out, this was actually her ploy to get him and Ari to have a day together. It honestly made him so happy until he remembered what he said.

The next morning was wasted with him just groaning and burying his face inside his pillow wondering why he was such a mess.

Eli had always felt comfortable around Ari, maybe a bit too comfortable, and that led to him spill out every thought that crossed his mind. He couldn't believe he told him he thought about kissing him, just what was he thinking?!

Was it so weird to crush on friends?

It wasn't anything at first. Eli knew for sure that whatever feelings he accidently caught would never develop into anything serious. There was no attraction between them, it was just Eli wondering what if there was?

When he's with Ari he admits that there are no sparks, no pull telling him to cling to him, and nothing that would make his heartbeat faster or his body temperature rise. All that happened when he's with Alec, and it just gets a lot more intense the more time they spend together. Eli just feels like floating when he's with Alec, like that's exactly where he was meant to be.

With Ari it is just intrusive thoughts.

It was some stupid crush that developed because of how nice Ari was, and how beautiful he was that Eli couldn't help but get confused about his feelings. He did love him intensely, but he failed to find any desire to do anything further than an innocent chaste kiss. A simple peck and nothing more.

Eli just loved too much sometimes.

He did wonder if his feelings were romantic, but all he felt was affection before he laughed at his silliness and hopped off his bed to meet up with Alec.

There were many things he wanted to talk to him about.

Excitement was there when he exited the door to go meet up with Alec who was probably just as excited to see him. Eli walked briskly to their meet up place, and the moment he caught sight of his mate, he couldn't help but sprint towards him to be engulfed by a hug.

They stood there for a while just hugging as Eli found any thoughts of Ari melting away.

He was sure now that Ari wasn't even a possibility, only Alec.

This was different. Incomparable.

"How was yesterday?" Alec asked giving him a sweet kiss on the top of his head as he continued to hold him and Eli smiled allowing himself to just enjoy this moment.

"Yesterday was fun. I enjoyed it."

"Mine wasn't as fun since you weren't there." Alec petulantly grumbled making Eli laugh at him before he broke off the hug with a roll of his eye.

It was just one day apart.

"Stop pretending you weren't busy all day with your pack duties. I bet you forgot all about me."

"I was busy, but I never forgot about you." Alec grinned and Eli gave him a kiss on the cheek just because he was being cute. "Did you enjoy your 'omegas only' day with Cassie?"

"Oh, yes." He lied easily knowing that most of his day was spent with Ari instead. Other than the one-hour car rides, he barely spent any time with her. "Had so much fun with Cass."

Eli took Alec's hand in his and smiled up at him.

"Walk with me?"

Not one to say no to his cute boyfriend, Alec nodded his head. "Lead the way."

And Eli did, leading him to a secluded place where they can both be alone. A place where many dreadful memories happened, but he wanted to paint over them with happier ones. Even if he hesitated to venture further than he had to into the woods, he knew wanted to.

The voices of everyone grew faint, and he stopped picking up any other unnecessary sounds around him.

There was only the ambient sounds of nature and Alec now.

It was a relaxing walk if it wasn't for Eli's nervousness, and Alec might have felt it because his hand squeezed his in a comforting manner. Whether it was done to ease his nervousness or just a random display of affection was only for Alec to know because Eli was more interested in talking about something else.

Something he'd been dying to talk about.

"Remember when you almost attacked some guy here?" Alec tensed at the question but didn't say anything as he nodded his head. He didn't expect Eli to mention that encounter with Constantine, he really would rather forget all about him. "Then do you remember what happened before that?"

Alec frowned wondering what Eli was asking about. As far as he knew, nothing really happened.

"All I remember is being rudely interrupted by that asshole." He muttered in dismay already feeling murderously possessive over Eli. All he can think about was how Constantine promised to take Eli away from him.

"Yeah, well, that's what I want to talk about." Eli told him swallowing nervously snapping him away from his thoughts. He stood in front of Alec who stopped walking as well and was looking down at his shoes. "I want to take things further with you, but I can't help but be scared."

Nervousness was normal in any relationship; Alec was aware of that. He even expected it since everything was new to Eli who was younger and never had any experience before.

But the manner in which Eli approached the subject made him doubt that this was it. There was guilt and avoidance in his manner, and it made Alec eager to find out what was wrong. What was troubling his mate?

"Scared of what?" He asked pulling Eli towards him, but the little omega still refused to look at him.

In a quiet little voice, Eli answered him. "Of you."

Alec was stunned, and he leaned closer wondering if he somehow misheard him. "Of me?"

"Yes, you." Eli confirmed as Alec strained his memory to figure out just where he went wrong. Exactly what did he do to make Eli fear him? There is no way he would hurt him. "When you kissed me here you didn't stop when I told you to."

"What? But you never said anything." Alec was flabbergasted.

"I did! You just didn't- couldn't hear me." Eli insisted making Alec back away from him to think, but Eli looked at him in worry hoping he didn't hurt him. "Alec?"

But Alec didn't respond right away, he just stared at nothing in particular trying to remember everything that happened that day. Everything which occurred before his attention was quickly snapped to-

Oh.

The fact that he didn't remember much other than how sweet Eli smelled and felt was telling. There's no doubt about it, he absolutely lost touch with his senses.

"Is this why you said I was the one most likely to lose control around you?"

The question surprised Eli making him almost let out an audible gasp, and he honestly felt guilty about saying that, but he still nodded his head. "I shouldn't have said it like that, I was upset."

Alec shook his head suddenly wary of touching Eli. "You were still right. I lost control."

"Yes, that's why we're talking about it. We need to be a bit more careful." Eli smiled up at him and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt to pull him down for a kiss. "Besides, I did say I want us to go further. Are you willing?"

Alec hesitated for a moment. "What if I lose control again? What if I hurt you?"

"You won't hurt me, and if you lose control, well..." Eli looked up at him contemplatively before a small shy smile crept on his face. "It's a gamble I am willing to take since it is you."
