Your Pov:

You woke up the next morning, a happy smile on your face as you stretched. You felt your lover's arms wrapped around your waist, eyes closed as she slept soundly.

You turned around slowly, careful not to wake her up. You eyed your  blonde goddess, not even bothering to hide your smile. You raised a hand to her face, your fingertips barely touched her face, as they traced and memorized each aspect of her beauty.

You felt her stir beside you, pulling you closer as she did. A soft chuckle surpassed your lips, heart fluttering at the action. Soon, your hand fell to her hair, caressing it gently, moving a few strands of hair out of her face.

You continued to stare at her, just quite literally staring and admiring her. The sun shone brightly behind the blinds, the quiet tweets of birds were loud enough to be an alarm clock.

"Staring is bad ya' know" You heard her whisper, pushing her face into your chest. You hadn't even realized she was awake. You had been too lost in thought to notice.

"Good morning,"

"Good morning..." She responded, voice muffled by your chest. "How'd you sleep?" You asked while your hands ran through her hair. "Good. It's been a while since I last slept so comfortably."

"Really? What's different this time?"

"You."

"Me?"

"Yes you," She pulled back. "I can sleep comfortably with you because I know I'll be safe. I trust you." Your heart fluttered but your mind couldn't quite understand. "Safe from what?" you questioned, raising an eyebrow at her.

"I don't know..robbers or kidnappers or something?" You laughed at her, shaking your head as you did. "Why are you laughing?" You laid back down, looking up to her—who was sitting up— with a bright smile.

"Robbers, kidnappers, or something? What exactly is something?" You turned completely to her, leaning in on your right arm. " I told you, I don't know! People who can hurt me or- whatever you're just making fun of me" She pouted, moving to get up from the bed.

You laughed at her reaction, pulling her by the waist to keep her in bed. "Alright, I'm sorry" You admitted in between laughs. Though she pouted at you, her eyes showed similar feelings like yours; happiness.

"I'm sorry, don't stay mad. Please?" Your last words were drawn out, making puppy eyes to try and manipulate her mind. Though it worked—since she allowed you to pull her to your chest and hug her—you couldn't help but ask. "Do you usually think you're gonna die before you go to bed?"

She pulled away from you, glaring as she sat at the foot of the bed, away from you. "It's a serious question!" You argued, though your eyes gave away your true intention. She grumbled at you, hopping off the bed and putting on her slippers.

You chuckled as she stormed off the room, following her actions a few minutes after stretching. You jumped out of bed, feeling giddy and weird. You skipped to the bathroom, catching your reflection as you entered.

You couldn't help but smile and look away. You knew and recognised the look you had, or maybe even the feeling you had. It was all too familiar. But you weren't going to hide or run away from it. You have done enough running away your entire life.

You happily brushed your teeth, walking and dancing around as you thought of all the things you and Lizzie could do together.

Lizzie's Pov:

The smell of burning shook me out of my thoughts. Panicked, I used the spatula to carry it to my 'burnt collection'. I sighed to myself, shaking my head with a smile.

"That's my third one..seriously.." I took a deep breath, closing my eyes in hopes of getting concentrated. I poured the batter like I usually did, holding the pan by the handle to spread the batter more. I watched it cook slowly, preparing my spatula once more to flip. Once it was ready, I flipped it to the other side. I repeated that gesture a few more timers until there was no batter left.

By the time I was nearly finished, I heard footsteps from the stairs. My beautiful girlfriend made her appearance, wearing one of my white shirts and just her slippers. Her hair was neatly combed, tied in a low ponytail. Her face shone lightly, appearing shiny and clean.

She walked over to me, wrapping her hands around my waist as I tried hard not to give in. "Are you still mad at me?" She questioned, placing her head onto my shoulder. I refused to answer, continuing my cooking as if she weren't standing behind me.

I raised my hand to flip the pancake only for it to be stopped and grabbed. She grabbed my wrist, using it to turn me around and cage me. She leaned into me, making me push back against the counter.

"I'm sorry, okay? Please don't be mad" My words got caught in my throat, leaning back in hopes of getting away from her. A mischievous look passed her eyes, bringing me back down to earth.

"I- I'm not mad!" I argued, pushing her by the chest and facing away. "You made me burn my pancake!" I glared at her, picking it up and dumping it on my stack of burnt ones.

Your Pov:

You leaned on your arm as you watched her carry the burnt pancake, a soft smile on your lips. She glared at you as she made her way back to you.

"Oh come on, you can't be mad when it's my first day of being your girlfriend" Your grin widened as you saw her lips curl into a small smile before disappearing into a thin line.

"Your fault, not mine" She turned, pointing her spatula at you. She shooed you away by whipping her spatula in the air, nearly hitting you everytime. "Geez, Lizzie. I didn't think you were into that kind of stuff. It's always the quiet one-" You were cut off by her throwing the table cloth at you.

"One more word from you and no pancakes." Her words were simple but her voice was strict. You dared not  to disobey.

You connected your phone to the speaker, playing yours and Lizzie's favourite album. You watch her sway slowly to the music, forgetting all about her threat to you. She smiled at you, dancing to the beat.

You laughed at her, following her actions. That was how you spent your first day together.

That Is How You Get The Girl
