"Oh really..."
He stood by the door, blocking me from getting through to the bathroom.
"Budge over"
"Kiss me and I'll move"
I leaned up, gave him a quick kiss on the lips and he moved over. I ran straight to the bathroom just so no one else could get in there before I could. Standing in the shower, I let the water trickle down my body, warming me up. I wrapped my towel around me and plugged my curlers into the wall. They beeped and I began to wrap my hair around, watching the curls form one by one. When I had finished, my hair looked lovely, even if I did say so myself. I gave myself a quick smile and opened the door to find the box outside. I laughed, looked around and picked it up, turning back into the bathroom and shutting the door. I carefully slipped the dress on and it fit perfectly. I smiled and walked into the bedroom where JJ was fixing his hair in the mirror, as soon as he heard the door open he looked around.
"Wow, you look beautiful"
"Will you zip me up?"
"Of course"
He came over to me as I had my back to him, he kissed my back and zipped up my dress in front of the mirror. The dress fit my figure perfectly. He picked up my J necklace from the dressing table, moved my hair out of the way and put it around my neck where it belonged. I smiled and started to fix myself in the mirror. Suddenly, I heard a loud crash and turned to see that JJ had got so frustrated with his tie that he had tied it around his head. I laughed and walked over to him untying the knot and fixing his tie perfectly around his neck.
"How the heck did you manage on the show" I asked.
"Josh did it for me" he said, putting his head down.
"There we go, sorted" I said, dusting down the tie.
"So we ready to go?"
"As ready as ever"
He took my hand and we got into the car, the excitement was killing me.
Pulling up at the venue, it looked like a winter wonderland. The ladies looked stunning in their dresses. We walked up the stairs hand in hand to be broken up by a huge hug from Ella.
"Meg, oh my god you look gorgeous!"
"You look so pretty" I replied.
We stood talking for a while until JJ took my hand and asked could he introduce me to some of his family. I walked around with him hand in hand meeting his aunties and his uncles.
"So you're Meg? Well aren't you just beautiful"
"She is isn't she"
"Why thankyou, that's so kind of you" I smiled.
I stood on the dance floor with Otea and JJ spinning her around as we danced to Carly Rae Jepsen.
"Meg!" I heard a voice shout. As I turned around I saw my dad walking towards me. I ran up to him and rugby tackled him with a huge hug, giving him a big kiss on the cheek.
"Oh Dad, I didn't think you'd make it" I said, going in for another hug.
"Well don't you look beautiful" said another, more feminine voice.
I turned around to see my mum stood in a beautiful dress, her hair curled. It was the best I'd see her look for years. All of her bruises had disappeared. I let go of my dad and ran straight to her, a tear falling down my face. This was the first time I'd seen my mum in 5 months. It felt good to be back in my mothers arms. My dad coughed from behind me as a hint to introduce him. I looked around and laughed.
"Mum, meet my dad...Dad, meet my mum"
They both looked at each other astonished.
"D..De..Debbie?"
"L..Luke?"
My mum walked over to my dad, and he took her into his arms, hugging her.
"How've you been?"
"Well it's been years, we've had out ups and downs but we've got through it and you?"
"Well I guess the same sort of thing....wow you look beautiful"
"Why thankyou, you were always a charmer" my mum blushed.
They walked off talking, not even giving me a goodbye.
"Well I'll see you around" I said laughing.
I felt a warm embrace around my waist.
"Merry Christmas Baby" JJ whispered in my ear.
I turned around on the dance floor and pulled JJ into a tight hug. All of a sudden, Chris Brown 'This Christmas' began to play, Josh stood by the microphone singing one of his favourite Christmas songs by one of his idols. I put my arms around JJ's neck and he put his hands around my waist and slowly we swayed on the dance floor. When the song was over, he gave me one last twirl around but we were stopped because JJ had to go and get ready to give a little performance with the boys. I then went over and sat with the couples. Ella, Lucy, Olly and I, sat and proudly watched out boys sing a medley of Christmas songs. They were a boy band, not only that but four brothers. When they had finished, the whole room stood up and applauded their work. It was amazing, their vocals were on point and they were just incredible. JJ was about to say something into his microphone but his mum took it away from him.
"We also have another performance tonight...Meg come up here!"
I looked at JJ's mum.
"Yes I mean you" she said.
"Go on then.." Olly said, pushing me up.
I felt the whole crowd look at me and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. JJ came and took my hand, standing me next to him. I looked at JJ's mum and gave her the 'I don't know what the heck you want me to do' look. She came and whispered in my ear.
"I heard you playing the piano earlier, come on"
I looked down and sighed, shaking my head.
"Will you do it?" Asked JJ.
I looked into his eyes and I wanted to make him proud. I gathered up all of my courage, put on a smile and nodded. Walking over to the piano, the whole room silent, I could feel peoples eyes glaring at me and I could tell they were expecting me to be rubbish. If I'm honest, I was expecting myself to be rubbish. I sat down at the piano, took a deep breath and started to play.
"I guess it's funnier from where you're standing..." I began to sing.
As I played through the song, once again it felt like I belonged. The more I played, the more confidence I got and the more I hit the high notes. I looked up to see my mum and dad at the back of the room, my dad had his arms around my mum and their faces full of pride. When I had finished the whole room bursted into cheers of laughter and proudness. I smiled and turned to received massive cuddles from the boys.
"You did it! you did it! I'm so proud of you" said Jaymi, hugging me tightly.
Little did anyone know, Jaymi had been giving me a few singing lessons and he'd been teaching me how to sing clown. George and Josh gave me the biggest hug and JJ the biggest kiss.
"I'm so proud of you" he said.
"Not as proud as I am of you" I replied, hugging him tightly.
Then the music changed and the party continued. Ella came and grabbed my hand, running me onto the dance floor to dance too some Olly Murs with her. We partied four hours and hours, even doing the Macarena and the cha cha slide. I could tell from now on that this Christmas was going to be a Christmas to remember.
