As the days went by, I spent less time with JJ and more time with his mum. The Christmas party was coming up in a few days and with me helping JJ's mum plan, I was always on hand to give advice.
It was the day of the party. JJ woke up early and took Otea to the park, I really wanted to go but my services were needed. I stepped into the car, sitting in the passenger seat next to JJ's mum, we were heading down to the venue to see what it was going to be like. We were singing songs in the car, blasting out some Mariah Carey, All I want for Christmas is you. Finally, we arrived at the venue. As I opened the door, I saw a building site. The room was surrounded by builders, rushing around trying to organise things. JJ's mum went over to the manager of the project, following him to find out the arrangements. I left her and walked into the room where the party would be held. There was a huge dance floor surrounded by tables and chairs. I noticed the piano in the corner and looked around there was no one about. Slowly, I walked over to the black instrument placed in the corner. Sitting down, I felt at home. Opening the lid that protected the keys, the white strings shone at me, asking me to play them. I took one last look behind me, there was still no one around, a little play on the piano wouldn't hurt anyone. I pressed the key and began to play 'Clown' by Emeli Sande. I had become obsessed with that song recently and had taught myself to play it on the piano. I started to sing the song, singing my heart out, forgetting where I was. I was in my own little world, hearing my voice echo around the room. I pressed the final note of the song and sighed to myself laughing.
"Meg....Meg....Meg..."Shouted a voice from in the hallway.
I stood up, placed the piano lid down carefully and ran across the dance floor to JJ's mum, it was time to head back and get ready.
When we arrived back at the house, JJ and Otea had already returned from their adventure at the park. JJ greeted me with a huge hug, whispering in my ear for me to go and check the bedroom. I laughed and made my way up the stairs. I wonder what JJ had planned? As I turned the handle to enter the room, I saw a package lay on the bed. As I got closer, I was that it was addressed to me. Did I open it?
"Go ahead and open it" said a voice from behind me.
I turned to see JJ eagerly awaiting for me to open the package. I just laughed, untied the ribbon and carefully lifted the lid. That was when I saw it, a gorgeous red dress lay there looking at me.
"JJ I.."
"Shhh I want you to wear it tonight"
"But JJ I..."
"Nope, you'll look gorgeous"
I carefully picked the dress out of the packaging and pressed it against my body, walking in front of the mirror smiling. I wanted to try it on so badly, I was like a little girl on Christmas morning. As JJ and I both edged towards the door to try and get to the bathroom first, we stood looking at each other.
"3..." JJ started.
"2..." I added.
"GO.." he shouted, running towards the bathroom, locking himself in.
"That's cheating" I shouted down the corridor, laughing.
I walked back into the bedroom laughing, picking up my phone to a text from Ella.
"Can't wait to see you tonight hun! me and Georgey are missing you"
I smiled and was about to reply when JJ walked in with a towel around his waist and his hair wet and flat.
"Bathroom's ready" He said.
"So you've finished pampering yourself?" I teased.
"Hey! I'm beautiful"
