                                Onyx's POV
"Let's move this conversation to, the living room."

I stood up then, picked up Primrose bridal style.

"You good?"

"Mhm."

Me and my mom walked to the living room. We sat on the couch.

"I wish I knew..he was going to do this."

"Me too. Me and Prim...we got into a fight. She told me to go to dad's. My dumbass..listened. I took the kids and left. I can back a-and saw her in a pool of blood. I don't think, I've ever blamed myself for something, that much."

"I-it's okay. I-I'm not mad."

"Baby you don't understand. This was my cousin who, shot you."

"And my cousin..shot you. But hey, you saved me again. So thank you."

"Anything for you. Anywho. Did you even think..to stop what you were doing?"

"I wanted to. Believe me. I-I did."

"What held you back?"

"Fear. At least that's what I think."

"So..you stabbed me in fear?"

"Oh right."

She laughed awkwardly. She started scratching her arm.

"I um...might've been high when I did that."

"You were doing drugs? Seriously? You? Doing drugs? I doubt that."

"Onyx..me and Mason...we were drinking and doing drugs a lot."

"A-and you let that go on, in your house? Especially when you have kids? What the hell?"

"Onyx...if I could go back and change it what I did...I would. Trust me. I fuckin wish I could. I-I would've done things, the right way."

"As much as I would like to believe you...I just can't at the moment."

"I totally understand that. I really do."

"Here's something, I need to know. Did you know...how fucked up...my mental health was?"

"N-no."

I scoffed.

"Great. That means....you didn't listen to my cries for help. Great. You don't remember you, walking in on me, just oh I dunno. Hanging from the fuckin top of the door?"

"Y-you hanged yourself?"

"Yeah. More than once. Tyla found me once and...that led to my first hospital visit."

"Nyxy...why haven't you told me this?"

"I thought..I'd worry you more. You already worry about me cutting."

"You've cut?!"

"Damn. You really didn't pay any attention to me."

"Onyx...why did you hide this? You and me..we don't keep secrets. Y-you know this."

"I know. And I'm sorry. If I didn't think, it's hurt you then...I would've told you."

"I don't think...I can get mad at you."

"If you do..that's fine. I understand."

Primrose pressed herself against me more.

"Don't worry though. I've been getting help. When Mari came along, she was my therapy. She saved me. I admit, I have had breakdowns. Really bad ones. Rose, you've seen some."

"Yeah. When Donovan fuckin showed up, I almost baker acted you. Let's not even talk about MJ saying she hated you."

"Yeah. T-that was a really bad breaking point for me."

"That was the first time, I heard you sound that...suicidal. You scared me. I yelled at Mari when I got home."

"Okay moving on. I don't feel like talking about that. It's over. It's done with."

Primrose kissed my jawline.

"I-I'm so sorry. I-I wish...I listened to you."

"Me too mom. Me fuckin too."

I heard Primrose yawn. I looked down. Her eyes were fluttering.

"Go back to sleep. I'm right here. You're still shaking a bit. It's slowed down a bit though."

She looked at her hands.

"Yeah. Y-you're right. It has."

"That's good."

"Well...I'm glad you're finally happy Onyx. You really deserve it."

"You're right. He does."

There was a thud.

"DADDY?! MALLY FELL!"

I put Primrose on the chaise part of the couch. I started running up the stairs. I heard Malakai crying. I ran into Malakai's room. He was on the floor holding his knee. I ran up to him.

"What happened?"

"Daddy..we were jumping on the bed."

"Why? You know that, that's dangerous right?"

Marionette looked down.

"I'm sorry daddy."

I picked Malakai up. I brought him to a bathroom. I put him on the counter.

"Your knee looks okay. It's just a little cut."

I grabbed a wash cloth and turned on the water. Malakai jumped.

"Woah! It's okay! I'm just doing to clean your knee!"

"The lady put that in my mouth."

That killed a part of me.

"S-she did? The same exact one as this?"

He nodded.

"Alright. Let's get rid of it then."

I threw it in the garbage.

"See? It can't hurt you now."

I grabbed a cotton ball and put it underneath the water. I turned the water off. I squeezed the cotton ball so, it wasn't completely soaked.

"This might hurt. It'll only be for a second."

I started cleaning his knee. He winced.

"Almost done buddy."

I threw the cotton ball away. I grabbed a dry one. I started drying his knee.

"I don't think, you need a bandaid so, that's good. It wasn't bleeding really. Does it hurt to move?"

He started moving his leg.

"I dunno."

"You don't know if, your knee hurts?"

It doesn't look swollen so, that's good.

I don't think, it's sprained.

"Daddy? Is he okay?"

"Yes. He's okay."

I picked him up and put him on the floor.

"Does it hurt to walk?"

He started walking.

"A little."

"Alright. Do you think, you can handle it or, do you want some ice?"

"Can I have ice?"

"Yep. Mari are you hurt?"

She shook her head.

"Do I have to go downstairs by Grandma Cece now?"

"Mommy's down there. I'm going down there now. You won't be alone."
