Onyx's POV
When I was allowed to go home, we went to pick up Marionette. She ran up to me when she saw me.

"Daddy!"

"Hey!"

I picked her up.

"Are you better?"

Hopefully.

"I think so. Were you good for Franklin?"

"She was."

"That's great. I'm really glad."

"I met his girlfriend's daughter!"

"Oh?"

"You're dating someone dad?"

"Uhhh..I am. I had to babysit for her. I-it was really last minute."

"It's fine."

"Did you have fun with her?"

She nodded.

"We played with my dolls! We played dress up! We played with a doggie!"

"How was that?"

"Good! Can we get one?"

"Ummm. Let's have this conversation another time."

"But daddy!"

"Sweetie...I literally just got outta the hospital. Please do not give me any issues. I'll think about it. I'd have to ask Primy too."

"Mommy can we get a doggie?!"

"I'll think about it too."

Marionette fell asleep in the car on the way home. I brought her inside and up to her room. I put her on her bed. I quietly walked away. I shut her door after I walked out. I panicked when I heard someone behind me.

"Sooo can we get a dog?"

"AH! How long have you been standing there?!"

"Two seconds probably."

Primrose started pulling my arms while she walked.

"Ummm....where are we going?"

She led me into our room. She slammed the door shut.

"Umm..am I in trouble?"

She started kissing me.

"You gotta stop scaring me."

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to."

"I know. I know. I just don't want to lose you."

"And I don't want to lose you."

Her voice sounds...like she's sad.

"Is everything okay? You seem...off."

"Huh? Yeah. I'm okay. I just...I just.."

She sat down on our bed. I sat next to her.

"You don't like seeing your parents with other people...don't you?"

She shrugged.

"D-do you think, I'll get used to this?"

"I've got no idea Prim. I'm not used to it still. I wish I knew what to tell you."

She fell backwards onto our bed.

"You're right. Family DOES suck. Ugh!"

I fell backwards onto our bed.

"I wish it didn't."

"19 years. 19 goddamn years. That's how long they were together for." She said as her voice cracked.

"Onyx I-I have no idea what to do!"

I propped myself up on, one elbow.

"D-do you think...it's my fault?"

"The fuck makes you think that?"

"They divorced after I moved out."

I wiped a tear away. I kissed her forehead.

"If something else in my family goes wrong, I'm fuckin decking someone."

"Not if I deck them first."

I started kissing her.

Please relax.

"It's gonna be fine. It feels weird saying that to you. I'm so used to hearing you say it."

"It feels weird hearing you say it."

She rubbed her left eye.

"It's gonna be okay. We'll get through our shitty families' crap. I love you."

"I love you too Nyxy."
