PARADIS YEAR 847
└───❀*̥˚───❀*̥˚┘

After having your meeting with the Commander you had a line of people asking what they wanted from you. It was comical watching as everyone listened intently at the words you recited. Some of them looked at you in envy, while others in awe.

It was to be expected, considering that cadets were never asked to join the higher ranks, let alone during their first year of training.

Your comrades couldn't help but feel happy for you as Sasha and Connie gloated about it to anyone they saw—Even when you explained that it wasn't necessary. You finally had to tell them that they didn't need to hype you up anymore which they reluctantly agreed to.

You remembered Jean staring at you with a strange look in his eyes before calling you stupid for ever getting yourself mixed up with that regiment. But you knew deep down it was his way of saying to be careful, which you appreciated.

The rest of the group felt the same way, after the congratulations faded, most of them shared their fears of you being sent off and not returning. You would just make a joke trying to ease the tension and it would work most of the time.

Plus it wasn't a permanent change, as the commander explained that you would be notified when you were needed. Not much to go off of, but you were fine with the arrangement.

You figured Reiner would feel the same way,  claiming that it would be easier to share information if you was able to travel back and forth easily.

Which is going to be a headache for you, considering that he's always wanting to ask  you a thousand questions about every little thing you do. The last thing you needed was to be met with Reiner's face every time you got back from the scouts.

The captain made it known that he wasn't going to go easy on you, and to enjoy the time you had left before you are sent off.

You took his advice as more of a threat rather than a helpful tip, which is why you were using your down time to spend it with your friends.

You currently laid on Connie's bunk with Sasha as she braided your hair, while the boys sat around their sleeping quarters. You couldn't help but laugh as they made fun of Eren's display during ODM training.

"Hey, Daz. Isn't he the one who said he was gonna slaughter all the Titans yesterday?", A cadet muttered as he walked past your group.

"I guess it's off to the fields for him tomorrow."

"Yeah, we can't afford to feed the useless", The guy snickered as they walked off causing Eren to slam his face against the pole.

"There's no point worrying about it now", You shrugged knowing that he was going to beat himself up over his performance today.

"You can just learn to do it tomorrow", Armin added trying to cheer the boy up.

"I'm pathetic", He groaned, "There's no way I can wipe them out like this."

"You should just forget about that altogether", You heard Reiner mumble from his bunk.

Who invited him to this conversation?

"What", Eren shouted sending the blonde a look of confusion.

"I'm saying you should give up trying to be a soldier. Fighting isn't about simply throwing your life away for something that can't be stopped".

Kind of ironic coming from him.

"Hey, now! I saw what happened that day", Eren argued, "Do you really think you can just convince me to quit?!"
