Chapter 29

3rd person.

It was a few nights later when Bella decided to finally give her cousin a call.

Bella was waiting for Edward to come through the window and stop her as she grabbed her phone, every time she had attempted to call before Alice would see it and Edward would be here to stop her.

What Bella didn't know was that her cousin was already aware of the situation so Bella's decision to call her changes nothing, inadvertently going around Alice's power.

When nothing happened for a minute after picking up the phone Bella dialed her cousin's number.

She had talked to her regularly since she's been gone but ever since the newborn army became a problem she hasn't been able to call her.

It was one of the main reasons she was considering breaking up with Edward, that and the constant marriage proposals and trying to control her.

She would have hit him if it would have had any effect when he messed with her truck.

The only reason she still put up with it was the Cullen's. She knew they had flaws but she felt right being around them, she couldn't describe it but it just hurts to be away from them.

Once she knew she wasn't going to die she would think about what she wanted, for now she couldn't afford to be distracted.

I was currently watching my guard train when my phone started vibrating in my pocket.

I pulled it out and smirked when I saw Bella on the caller I.D.

I answered immediately with a sarcastic smirk "Soo, did you finally get around to telling me about Seattle?" I asked mockingly into the phone.

I heard silence on the other side of the line before a snort "I'll be honest here Cuz, I'm just happy to get ahold of you. Every time I tried to warn you about it Alice would see and then the next thing I know I would have Edward or her stopping me" She said with frustration in her voice. ...Are you fucking kidding me?! Who the fuck do they think they are?!

I froze and blinked for a few seconds as I processed the audacity "okay fuck them, I swear to fuck Bella if you don't break up with him I'll just kill him" I growled out as I glared at the floor, I could hear a few of the guards stumble slightly at the sound of me angry, it never meant good things.

She laughed bitterly from the other side of the phone, I could practically hear the pain and exhaustion in her voice "I know, but right now I need to survive long enough to make that decision" she said quietly. Can't this bitch ever catch a break?

I let out a deep sigh and nodded "That's fair, I'll tell you this because I know he can't read your thoughts but you and Charlie both have a guard member on you. Trust me, if all else fails they'll get you out of there, Afton can't be detected by Edward and I wasn't about to risk your life. You may drive me crazy but I love you" I said gently as I tried not to cry as I felt emotions well up as I thought about losing the few family I actually care about.

I heard her huff before sighing "Thanks, normally I wouldn't love the security detail but right now I can use all the help I can get" she said with a sort of mirthful laugh at the end.

I glanced at the guard who were all trying to act like they weren't listening making me shake my head at them and glare playfully "Yes, well you get used to the security detail, it isn't that bad" I said sarcastically.

She chuckled lightly "I could imagine, how many was your guard up to the last time we spoke, wasn't it like 20?" She asked teasingly making me laugh. They wish...

I rolled my eyes "No nothing that extreme, Just 6, so far" I said as I watched Axenof send Jordan flying across the room.

There was a pause on the other line of the phone before Bella said "Wow I expected at least 10".

I snorted "Trust me they wanted to but none of their personal guards have over 4 members, Instead, they compensated by putting the members with the strongest gifts in my guard. It's okay though, I like my guard. They're all pretty chill" I said casually as I leaned back in the camping chair that was brought in especially for me.

I like watching my guards train, sometimes they would do formations with me so they can better be prepared to protect me in a combat situation but most of the time I just watched them chuck each other across the room with some popcorn. It's the best part of my day! Oh, there goes Josh...Bye Josh! Damn Annabeth can throw a bitch...

Bella and I continued to talk as I watched my guard fling each other around for sport, excuse me, training.

I was laying in bed with my cats and Mates when there was a knock on the door.

I picked my head up out of the cuddle Cacoon as Aro opened the door and took whatever message was on the other side.

I knew it couldn't be good as I could feel as both Caius and Marcus stiffened beside me.

When Aro turned around I just raised an eyebrow making him sigh in acceptance before telling me the news.

The threat was neutralized and it was safe for us to travel to Forks.

We were in the air within an hour ready to go.

It was time to make a treaty with some shifters.
