"HOW DARE YOU" I said, standing up, the tears running down my face.
"WHAT??"
"DON'T YOU EVER, EVER TALK TO MY BOYFRIEND LIKE THAT"
It was then that it happened. The sharp slap of his hand hit the side of my face. I clutched my wound in the cup of my hand. This was the final straw
"I TOLD YOU THAT YOU'RE NOT TO SPEAK TO HIM! YOUR MOTHER AGREES"
"NO SHE DOESN'T"
"SHARON!!" he screamed.
My mum appeared..
"Tell her"
"Megan, you're not to talk to JJ anymore, John's right"
I looked at her. How could she? Why take his side? I gave her a glare and then stormed to my room. I lay on my bed cuddling the teddy that JJ had bought me, it smelt of him and it felt like he was near. It became wet with my tears.
The next few days were awful. I missed hearing his voice and I didn't know what to do. I couldn't go out because of the bruises and cuts on my face.Things had become better with John and my mum. Instead of my mum,I was now Johns punchbag. Three days had passed since the incident. I was woken up by the letter box banging shut. I crept downstairs to see a large package addressed to me. I grabbed it with both hands and ran upstairs. I locked the door of my room and sat on my bed. Carefully tearing open the package, I saw the box of a new mobile phone. It wasn't modern, it was just an old phone that allowed me to call. It had a note attached. The note read:
"Dear Meg,
I could hear the fear in you voice the other night, I never realised how violent Tony could be. I didn't tell you but you were on speaker phone, the other boys heard you too along with Olly. We need to get you out of there and as fast as we can. I know that your phone's been broken which is why i've sent you this. It's got all the numbers you need. Text or call me anytime and i'll pick up. We're going to get this sorted, I wont let him hurt you again. As soo as you've read this I want you to call me and tell me what happened for the rest of that night. Please stay safe, we'll get you out of this. Lots of love, JJ xxx"
I opened the box of the phone and immediately found JJ's number. I dialled it.
"Baby?"
"JJ! oh I've missed you"
"Are you ok?? What happened?"
"He smashed my phone, my mum said I'm not to talk to you or see you and I...I just can't cope anymore"
I hung up. I had to take a photo of my injuries and send them to him. That was exactly what I did. He then called me up again.
"Did he do that to you?"
"Yes.." I said, beginning to cry.
"Don't cry baby, I got this"
"I'm scared JJ, I need to get out of here"
"I know, and we'll get you out of here, just...just call me at three ok? I'll have the plan sorted. I love you"
"I love you too"
He put the phone down, I wondered what he was planning.
At three O'Clock I went to check my phone. I looked to see that I had a text. The text read.
"Have your things packed in a case and be ready for 8 tomorrow night, he's not gonna touch you again"
I didn't know what the text meant or what was going to happen but I did what JJ had said. I packed all of my clothes and belongings into suitcases and bags, hiding them in my wardrobe just incase anyone came in. I wanted to cry, I needed to get out of here.
At eight O'Clock the next night I sat in my room waiting for what was going to happen. Suddenly I heard a tapping on my balcony window. I opened the curtains to see George and Josh stood. I opened the doors and let them in. I hugged them so tightly.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered.
"Just pass me your stuff" George said.
"Quickly" Josh added.
I opened my wardrobe, handing my bags to them one by one. When we were done I asked them what they were going to do. They simply replied that they would see me in a few minutes. I didn't know what to expect. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. I ran to the top of the stairs to hear John shouting.
"GET OFF OF MY DOORSTEP OR I HURT YOU"
"I'm not leaving without her!"
"She's not coming out here"
"Give her to me, I'm not leaving"
I peeked to see JJ stood at the door. He noticed me and signaled me to wait in my room. I ran back into my room. Walking up and down I anxiously waited. Another tap on the window scared me. I opened it up to see George again.
"You ready??" He asked.
I nodded and climbed out onto the balcony. Climbing down the rope ladder, I made my way to the front of the house. We tried to be as quiet as we could, making sure that he wouldn't see us. It was going well until I heared his scream.
"GET IN HERE NOW!!"
"RUN" shouted JJ.
George grabbed my hand and we ran like the wind. Josh had the car door open and George pushed me in, slowly following behind me. I could hear the sound of slaps and groans.
"Josh, Josh, Josh, he's punching him, Josh help him"
I wriggled out of my seat, opened the door and ran to aid my boyfriend.
I got hold of Johns hair, pulled him off JJ and slammed him to the floor. JJ grabbed my hand and we ran into the car.
"DRIVE" Screamed JJ.
There were bangs and knocks on the car. I could see Johns face pushed up against the window. He began to chase the car down the street.
"YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!" He screamed as we continued to drive down the street.
I looked up at JJ. His face covered in cuts and bruises, his nose red with blood. I began to cry. All of a sudden I felt JJ's warm arms wrap around me. Putting my head on his shoulder we drove as far away as possible.
