My mother drops me and Blakely off at the party , it is a little embarrassing but we needed a ride . As we walk in I see Elaine making out with her boyfriend.
I am glad they are kissing , I don't get the feeling Elaine really likes him . Blakely gets a pair of skates , The man behind the counter asks me if I want a pair , but I just shake my head no .
" Why don't you want to skate "she asks me while she sits down and puts on a skate .
" I just don't " I say bluntly
I see Hayes standing by some games and he is Motioning for me to come over where he is .
" You go ahead I am just gonna play some games have fun " I say to her
Blakely just says
" ok"
But she don't look up from trying to get her skate on .
I walk over to Hayes who is playing a game .
I am guessing he wants to start our lesson .
" Can we talk " he asks
His voice sounds serious but he is still looking at the game so it can't be.
" Sure" I say with my voice cracking a bit I don't know why
A bells goes of the game he is playing cuz he won . He bends down and get a prize out of the machine.
He looks at it then hands it to me .
" Now you can never say that I have not gave you something." He says with a sly sexy smirk
I won't deny the butterflies in my stomach.
The prize is a locket , it is cheap but still cute.
I slide it in my purse .
" So the stuff is in the 3 rd stall In the women's bathroom." He says
Oh he wanted to tell me about the liquor not about lesson I should have known .
" ok me and Blakely will get in a minute she is skating right now . " I tell him
He leans in closer to me and I have to catch my breath .
" Why are you not skating ?" He asks
He is so close and he is looks at me so intensely , I
never had a boy look at me so intensely as Hayes Palmer does . And I don't know why , I never notice
Him look at any other girl like this but I guess it is different when the attention is on you .
" I am scared of skating you know the whole busting my teeth out or breaking a limb , I just don't find it appealing." I say
He laughs like he always does at me .
" I can teach you if you like . I use to get drop off here every day back in the 3 rd and 4 th grade so I am like a pro." He suggestes
" That is sweet , but definitely drinking and skating don't mix well" I state
" true" he says and sounds like such a cool boy , but I guess he is
" I will go get the stuff" I say
" Wait I wanted to talk to you about something." He says
I just figured the liquor was what he wanted to talk about .
" The girl who party is Uma" he starts
" I thought her name was Emma " I say but I was really thinking out loud
" What" he says and looks so confused
" You said earlier her name was Emma."
" Did I? I don't know her Robert told me her name was Uma ." He says
" Anyways it's her birthday her birthday wish is to kiss me ." He says
I could fall over . I was not expecting him to say that .
" I just wanted to run it past you . It will be in front of everyone right in the middle of the dance floor." He explains
I feel as though I could throw up . What was once butterflies in my stomach is now waves and I am trying my best to stay calm.
" unhuh" is all I can say
And really I am not sure if it makes any sense here .
" If you don't want me to or if it will get in the way of a lesson ." He says
A lesson that was our situation , he wouldn't kiss any other girl the same night .
" The rule is if you are with another girl than no lesson that night."I say
My belly is still doing flips as my anger grows.
" If is just a kiss , not making out Abigail. " he claims
I laugh but one of those , it not really funny laughs .
" It is the same thing " I say with my hands on my hips .
" So you are saying that if I kiss her there will be no lesson tonight." He asks
" I am saying you have the night off " I say and storm off !!!
