The incessant knocking continued. I silently screamed into my pillow. It's so firm and comfortable, I just want to take a nap. My muscles are so sore.

The knocking goes on for a little bit longer before it stops. Thank God! I hear the door open, making me groan. I pop one eye open to see Ke standing there, one hand on the doorknob and a pick in the other.

"Y'know I tried to be respectful and shit, but yo dumbass don't even appreciate it," he drawled out.

"What do you want?" I asked, ignoring his comment.

"We're going out for dinner at 7 so be ready." He informed me in a tone that I didn't appreciate. I narrowed my eyes at him. Keep that base out yo throat mfer.

Of course I didn't say that out loud. I ain't that bold and I do value my life.

I am a grown ass woman and you're gonna have to talk to me with a little bit more respect.. Jessica said

Girl you've been waiting to use that since you watched that damn tiktok sitcho ass down!

"Okay how dressy are we talking, like a boujee restaurant or more like wendy's?" I try to find my phone to check the time. It was right there, I just know it ain't grow legs and crawl away.

He sighed tiredly, "Fancy, dress up. We're wearing suits and ties," He left before I could say anything else.

"Shut my damn door!" I yelled, but he kept walking like he didn't hear me. "Asshole" I mutter under my breath as I get up and close the door.

Finally finding my phone, I looked at the time. 4:30 I could take a nap.

You already know you ain't gone wake back up Jessica shook her head at me.

Damn

I sigh and walk to my closet. What to wear, what to wear? I walk in circles until I find two dresses that I like.

"Red or white?" I talk to myself.

"Girl, red because if you stain this white imma be mad as hell."

"You right. You right." I continue my full blown conversation with myself.

"Baby, what are we gone do about this hair," I cringe as I look in the mirror.

"Throw a wig over that hoe," I decided.

"Hmm, open toe or closed toe heels?"

It's not until I look up from my feet that I see Tae standing in the doorway with an amused look on his face. "Do you always talk to yourself like that?"

"Yes. Is there a problem?" I ask defensively.

"I was just asking damn, loosen up," He let out a small chuckle raising his hands. "Anyways, I came to ask you if you wanted to- " He stopped abruptly making me raise my eyebrows. "If you wanted me to braid your hair up," he nodded to himself reassuringly.
