Mass woke up for the third time that night, the day before the fourth...
He's always jumpy and excited around the fourth. More importantly, he behaved more like Florida. Constantly ready for war and being excessively clingy to you in particular. Just in case... and I quote. "The British invade again! THEY AIN'T TAKING YA!!"

Mass rolled over and nudged your shoulder. "Y/N. Babe. Wake up!" You just moved away slightly, hugging your pillow. "Y/N? Wake up it's important!!" He said, growing more impatient. Now shaking you even faster. "Mass? What do you want..." You mumbled. Your eyes fluttering open.
"I started a war."
"Good for you hun. Now go to bed, please." Massachusetts shakes his head and pulls you into his arm. "Nope! Freedom doesn't rest. And I have to protect the love of my life. Just in case..." You sigh softly and bury your head in his chest. Mass smile only widens, and he places a small kiss on your forehead.
"I started a war."
"I know hun, and you did great... Now please let's go back to sleep."
