{two days later}

yesterday was a regular day. you went on a small mission with steve, sam and nat, went out to get food for everyone with pietro and zayn, and you tried to act like everything's normal between you and harley and wanted to talk and hang out with him like nothing happened but you noticed how he, at least, tried to avoid you.

between bucky and you changed literally nothing. nothing was weird or awkward, everything was fine and normal and you acted like every other day.

you were in bucky's room right now. he was laying on his bed and you were looking through the things that were on his shelf's. you always loved how he decorated and styled his shelf's so you wanted to look through it.

"yes but steve got over her quicker than i thought, maybe he met someone new- what are you even doing there?"
bucky asked.

"admiring. you're also pretty dumb did you know that?"

"uhm, thank you?"

"steve obviously got over this peggy girl because of nat. didn't you see what's going on between them? it's so obvious. god you're so blind."
you said while holding a book in your hand, admiring it.

"girls are better in sensing these things. not my fault."

you lift your head up and narrowed your eyes at him.

"what does the gender have to do with this? anyways. i'm stealing this from you. don't be surprised if you'll never find it again."
you held up a book. he chuckled.

"i guess i need to get used to this."
he said softly but flirtingly. you just smirked at him, bucky quickly stood up. he stretched out his arm, offering you his hand.

"let me take you on a date."

you chuckled.
"mhm sure."
you said in a sarcastic tone.

"i'm serious y/n."

you kept your smile but narrowed your eyebrows at him once again. his arm was still stretched out.

"oh my god you really are."
you scoffed.
"bucky we can't do this. what if someone see's us and what will the others think if we go out together."

"i don't care if they know about us, but if you do, then we can go a little far away where they probably would never catch us."

you didn't say anything. you were just thinking. thinking if you should say yes or no. you would really love to go on a date with bucky, you always did. but you don't know if it's worth the risk.

you trailed your eyes to his hand, and then met his eyes which were already looking at you. while still looking into his eyes, you took his hand and smiled.

"far. away."
you stated. he nodded and smiled bright.

"let's go"
he tried to pull you behind him but you held him back.

"what? no! not now. i need to get ready."
you chuckled. he rolled his eyes and groaned,

"hurry up, ok? i don't want to wait too long."

"yes, sir."
you smirked and let go of his hand to go get ready.

you got ready and put on some casual but fancy clothes and some make up. you brushed through your hair one last time and then finally finished. as soon as you finished bucky entered your room.

"so we're getting used to not knocking on the door before entering now?"
you said in a playful tone while looking at him through your mirror.

"why would i?"

you turned around to him and narrowed your eyes as you gave him a 'what the fuck' look

"just forget about it"
you shook your head and stood up. bucky traced his eyes up and down slowly, admiring you. bucky looked like he looks everyday. just a bit fancier, nothing more, nothing special.
"you like what you see?"
you said teasingly and smirked. a smile formed on his lips. he came closer to you and grabbed your waist gently.

"i love it."
he said and placed a soft kiss on your forehead.
"you look very beautiful, y/n."

you couldn't help but smile at his words. who would've thought that the famous killer 'the winter soldier' would have such a soft side..? you actually really liked his soft side, it's cute.

"ok how do we do this now?"
you asked.

"you're going out first. meet me in the red car."
he demanded. you nodded. he gave you a quick kiss on your lips and then let go of your waist so you can go. you went into the elevator to go downstairs and then out. as soon as you got downstairs you made your way to the door. on the way to the door you saw everyone standing there. as you came closer you saw harley with a luggage beside him. it looked like he was leaving. you were very confused at the moment.

"what is happening here?"
you said from behind. everyone turned their gazes at you.

"oh y/n. sorry i actually just wanted to go upstairs to say goodbye to you."

"goodbye? goodbye for what?"

"uhh guys i think there's this really important mission we need to talk about. now. right now."
sam said, obviously wanting to find a way to leave harley and you alone. everyone left and now it was just you and harley.

"y/n i no longer have a reason to stay here. i'm going to go but i don't know if i'm coming back like the last time."

"harley what the fuck? is it because of me and bucky? listen i really think we have such a great friendship and i really don't want to give that up. please stay harley and don't pull this card again."

"sorry y/n but i don't want us to have a great friendship. i want more than that. and i only came back because of this, and if i don't get it, i don't need to stay here, there's no reason to. please don't get me wrong, i am very happy for you, as long as you're happy. and i'm glad you have somebody on your side."

suddenly bucky came out of the elevator. you should've been in the car already, that's why he was confused to see you standing there, talking to harley.

"oh, barnes. we were just talking about you."
harley smiled at him.
"i really wish the both of you the best. good luck and i'm happy y'all found each other."
he came closer to you and pulled you in for a hug. you tightened the hug very much. you really didn't want him to go.. you missed him so much throughout the years and now when you finally had him and your friendship back, he just leaves like the last time.

while the both of you were still hugging, you were mumbling into his chest.
"what about the others? they missed you so much and i'm sure you did too."

"of course i did. but not as much as you"

"what about peter?"
you tried to convince him so much to stay.

"we will still see each other."

"harley this is your home here. we are your home."

"and you guys will always be, trust me."

"then don't go."

"i have no other choice."
he slowly pulls away from the hug. he grabbed his backpack and luggage and smiled at you.

"i will miss you, angel."
he said softly. you could see a tiny bit of tears forming in his eyes. his eyes traced to bucky.

"take good care of her."
bucky gave a quick nod and smiled at him very weakly. harley turned around, opened the door, and just left. he just left like the last time and gave up on his home. you felt very sad, you and his friendship just started to build up again and be like the old times, and now he left.
he's gone.
