CHAPTER SIXTEEN (past)
"HEY. LOOK WHAT THE SURF DRAGGED IN!" harlow called out with a small frown, she sat next to donna who was acting different ever since garth died. the brunette's held each others hand in support, donna mostly just needing it. she never showed her emotion when garth died, yet harlow knew she was hurting.
"I was beginning to think you blew us off." dick replied as harlow took a sip of the beer. she's been quiet to everyone, even dick. the two grew apart, which scared the team. if dick and harlow broke up, they would be fucked.
"he says, 'homework never ends.'" dawn translated as ellie raised her glass.
"hell yeah." Ellie and Sabrina both took a drink as harlow smiled at the two, she still said nothing.
"ah, it did for me." hank mentioned which made harlow scoff playfully, she felt dicks eyes on her like he was wanting to say something, "one day I woke up, no school, no books."
"I thought you were expelled." sabrina mentioned as a smirk crept on her face.
"some say." hank replied as harlow took another drink of the beer. dick chuckled which made harlow look over at him, 'was it a fake laugh?' or a real laugh. probably fake. harlow looked away at sabrina who gave her a small smile.
"well, stereolab released a new japanese pressing today." dick mentioned as harlow stood up. she clapped her hands to hank, who threw the football at her. she caught it and made a juke attempt but hank grabbed her.
"you son of a bitch." harlow replied as hank took the football back. "should've let me."
"right." hank mocked as sabrina stood up, she tackled harlow for no reason, which made the two fall on the sand laughing. "I should've done that." harlow and sabrina both flipped him off, laying on the ground. sabrina looked into harlow's eyes, the two smiled at each other.
"that would look wrong!" ellie singsonged as donna grabbed the football, dick watched as harlow and sabrina laid there. he noticed how differently harlow was acting towards everyone lately, it was like she liked half of the team (not in a friendly way). sabrina rolled off of harlow, who laid and looked at the stars.
"okay record geeks, come back to the party please." donna called out as she threw the football to jericho. harlow sat up as sabrina smirked at her.
"listen up, you got sand everywhere on me." harlow pouted as Sabrina gave her a fake pouty face. "shut up, I can just tell by your 'you love me' face. I grew up with you, I know that look."
"bitch." Sabrina joked before harlow shoved her back on the ground. "harlow!" Sabrina yelled out as harlow flipped her off, she stood up wiping off the sand as Sabrina flipped off harlow. dawn went to play football with the guys, and girls. harlow walked over to dick, she sat down next to him. they wrapped arms around each other.
