BaeHope Fight

The music was blaring loudly in the practice room where all of you are trying to rest after a hellish practice for the new choreography. Well, some are resting, some are still trying to perfect the moves, and some are too energetic to rest for a while and you’re one of them along with Jungkook and Taehyung.

Yoongi and Namjoon were resting before joining Jin and Jimin in practicing more while Hoseok is on the phone, watching the whole dance with furrowed eyebrows. The loud sound was too much and it was getting on his nerves bit by bit. Sighing, he stood up and gestured for you to lower the volume to which you obeyed then went back to Jungkook and Taehyung but also joining Jin and Jimin in trying out the dance a few more times.

While checking the video, he kept noticing that you were a beat late at some times. He turned your eyes at the time where you just finished practicing the moves that you knew you kept on messing up and started on having fun again. Hoseok didn’t see the part where you were also practicing so he assumed that you were not working hard for this comeback which riled him up.

You calmed down a few minutes when you sensed a pair of eyes on your back. Turning around, you saw Hoseok staring at you with fire in his eyes. You know that type of look, it’s the kind of look that says you’re in trouble but he won’t shout at you but wished that he should’ve just done that.

Excusing yourself, you went towards to where he sat and quietly took a seat beside him. “Is something wrong?”, you quietly asked the older. He gave you the phone which played the part where you can’t keep up. After watching for a few minutes, you were about to say how you practiced with the others a few minutes ago but he spoke first, “Are you not serious about this comeback? We’ve been practicing for the whole day already. We’ve been idols for years. Why are you suddenly this slow?” he asked in a calm but scary way.

This wasn’t the first time that you were a bit too slow on picking up moves but he’s never asked you something about not being serious so it took you a lot to not counter in a displeasing way. You didn’t agree with the way he asked you but you don’t have any right to answer back because he is way older than you and you didn’t want to disrespect him in anyway.

You stayed silent and just looked down on your lap and accepted his words. “We’ve been talking about the choreography and practicing nonstop and you were there doing things that doesn’t concern the comeback as if you were perfectly doing it.” Each of his words raising volume, catching the attention of others.

Yoongi nudged Namjoon to wake him up while the other four quieted down but the music still playing. “What’s happening?”  Namjoon who fully woke up asked. “Nothing, go back to sleep. Let’s continue the practice tomorrow.” Hoseok stated and stood up, about to leave. “I am serious about this comeback.” Hoseok turned at your direction after hearing your words. “Oh really? I wasn’t aware of that” he said looking at you.

The other members were looking at the both of you, and knew what the both of you were arguing about. “You were busy dancing to other songs while when you were dancing to ours, you kept making a mistake. How is that serious?” he added. Jimin who were the one who was checking your moves intervened, “Hyung didn’t you see her? She was practicing with us.”

Hoseok ignored the younger’s comment and just stared at you. He was a person who you respect so much but there are times where you want to fight for yourself. The others watched you as you marched towards the sound system and turned on the song that all of you were practicing.

Once the song ended, it became quiet once more. You knew that you properly executed the dance based on Hoseok’s expectation. Once you calmed your breathing, you walked to your belongings and put them all in your bag. “I’m going home first.” then went out of the practice room.

When the door closed, Jin rounded on Hoseok. “What the hell is your problem?” “I was just doing my job.” Hoseok answered the oldest. Jin was taken aback by his answer “Your job? That was your job of being an older brother she looks up to?” Jin bit back. “Hyung, that’s not a job for me.” “Oh really? Then why did you say that it was? We clarified long ago that we wouldn’t name what we do as our job, not anymore because we’re a family.” Jin said then shook his head. “I may not be the leader but I am the eldest, so fix what you did. You know what you did and said wrong Hoseok.”

You tried settling in your room after the ride from the company building but you were restless so after taking a short but needed bath, you went to the middle of your room which has enough space for you to move and turned on the song from before.

As you were dancing for the nth time, you didn’t hear the front door open and close, dictating that the others were home.

A knock was heard from your door which thankfully resonated over the music. You stopped the music and opened the door to find Hoseok standing behind it.

“I heard music.” he said quietly. “Was it too loud?” you asked timidly, suddenly remembering how you acted towards him when you left. “No, it wasn’t. I was just trying to think what to say to you when you opened the door.” he sighed. You stepped aside to let him in your room.

He sat at the edge of your bed, expecting you to join him but you went to your phone to play the music once again. Letting you dance the whole routine, he took note of few mistakes. When you were done, he stood up and corrected the moves that he saw earlier. Without any complains, you obliged and tried it out until the both of you were satisfied.

“I’m sorry about earlier.” you said to when you sat down on your bed. Hoseok looked at you wildly, “Why are you the one apologizing? I was the one who lost my temper.” he apologized back. “You had the right to lose your temper. Besides, I was disrespectful when I left.” you looked down, remembering the scene from before. Hoseok shook his head. “Stop, you weren’t disrespectful in any way, okay? You were proving your point. I was in the wrong. One thing though that made me feel even worse was when I said that I was just doing my job.” You looked at the older in a questioning manner. “I categorized what I was doing as a job, Bee” he said then looked down. After what he said, you remembered about the talk between you and the members saying that the things you do won’t be considered as a job because that term is too formal and that’s not what’s supposed to be because the relationship that you hold for each other is considered as family.

Hoseok turned towards you and took your hands, “No matter what you say, I’m in the wrong in this situation. I’m sorry, Bee.” he apologized quietly. You looked at his frame, said nothing and hugged him. “It’s okay, stop saying sorry. I forgive you.”

A series of knocks interrupted the two of you, “Are the both of you done saying sorry? We’re starving already, there’s take out in the dining room. Come eat with us, okay?” a voice said, obviously Jin. The both of you looked at each other and smiled, relieved that you’re on good terms now.
