Chapter 13 : Trust

Yu's eyes were still red from crying but she had managed to get back her cool and had emerged from the depths of her hoodie. She had managed to roll her ankle pretty badly when she tripped and when she tried to follow Yoongi who was turning around to go home, she couldn't conceal her limp.

''Can you walk?'' he asked.

''Yeah, it's not that bad, I'll make it home.'' Yu said, not wanting to be an even bigger burden.

''Good then...'' Yoongi said, starting to walk without giving her injury another thought.

His reaction was the total opposite of Jin's who had begged to carry her home when they met. Yu didn't know what she thought of it. Did he trust her when she said it wasn't bad, or did he just not care?

''I didn't even ask you, what are you doing outside in the middle of the night?'' Yu asked, while following him.

''I was trying to let out some steam by hunting... My wolf was just about to get a nice juicy hare when you came running thought the forest and scared all of the prey of the area off...'' Yoongi said plainly.

''Pff you say that like catching a hare is tough... I can smell like four different ones as we speak...''

Yoongi lifted his nose up and huffed the air.

''Liar. I don't smell anything.''

''You don't have to insult me just because your nose is weak. Besides what are you gonna do with a little rabbit? It's good enough for a snack, but with a pack of six waiting back home you should at least try to get game big enough so everyone can have a bite...''

''Would you magic nose happen to be smelling some gigantic rabbit we can feed to seven people?'' Yoongi asked sarcastically.

''I've never seen a rabbit big enough for seven, but I do smell a deer...''

''A deer?''

''Yeah, about a kilometer north...''

''Are you trying to make me believe you can smell a deer from a kilometer away?''

''No, I'm just catching the scent of the trail it left behind about two hundred meters from here... It should be hiding for the night, we probably scared it and that's the reason it's on the move.''

''I don't believe what I don't see...''

''Then let me prove you wrong. How fast is your wolf?'' Yu asked in a tone of challenge.

''Fast enough.'' Yoongi replied, not yet biting her bait.

''Do you think you can carry me? My nose will be your guide.'' Yu said with an eager smile.

''How weak do you think I am...''

''So, what do you say, feel like a midnight snack?'' she asked with a grin, the perspective of hunting again was an exciting one.

Being a huntress was written in her blood; that was something she could never forget. Maybe she could actually prove herself useful for once.

''The only reason I'm agreeing to this is because I need to let out some steam. I don't actually believe you...'' Yoongi said before closing his eyes. '' Now turn around I don't want you to see me transform, it's embarrassing...''

''Aww... But I don't remember how to switch into my wolf form... if you show me that would mean you can get rid of me faster...'' Yu tried to negotiate, before Yoongi took her shoulders to make her face the other way.

''Turning is not something you learn by watching. You have to feel it. You have to stop thinking about your body as it is right now and let the wolf take over. It takes a lot of experience to turn at will. It's much easier when you're under the influence of a strong emotion, so you need to evoke a memory that makes you feel something powerful, and then...''
