Poe's POV:
We step onto the Repulsorpod and it takes off, convincing the senate will be tough, but people have done it before. ¨The trick is to be confident and talk like you strongly believe in what your asking for." I say to Rey as the Repulsorpod stops. We soon get surrounded by many people from the senate, finally its five thirty and the meeting begins. A man starts by asking us why were here, "Were here to ask for your alliance in the war against the first order." I say
"Well yes, but didn't we say we wanted to stay out of this war? A man says
" Yes, you did, but if no one can not be apart of a war, and think of it like this, if the first order wins then we all live in misery, ruling over everyone not giving a say to anything. But if you join the Resistance we can defeat all evil once and for all and there can be peace in the galaxy." Rey says using a desperate tone.
"Whats your name girl." the same man asks
"Rey sir." Rey says
"arent you a fugitive for the first order?"he says
"Yes, thats how I came to be in the resistance, I was on a mission to bring important information back to the resistance, and lets just say we got into a little trouble with the forts order." Rey says
"What kind of information was it?" Rey looks at me with a worried look on her face.
"W-we only share that kind of information with our allies." I say
"The man was about to say but then purses his lips.
"So what would we do as an allie to you?" A woman asks
"We would want you to guard the outer rim, not to let any First order ships in, and to fight with us in this war and to stand up with us and take down the First order." Rey says
"We will light the spark that will burn the fire that will take the first order down." I say remembering that quote from last meeting.
"Yes, that is true, but if we lose? Won't the First Order execute us because we fought against them?" Another man says
"Yes that may be true, but your fighting for the right side, and I can tell you that we have a really good chance of winning this war." I say desperately
"Oh, and why is that?" A man says in the back in a curious voice
"When we destroyed star killer base, a good chunk of storm troopers, pilots, and commanders on board." I say
"You say you want to bring peace to the galaxy, but you kill people to do it?" The woman says.
"People die in wars, thats what happens, and the light takes over the dark." Rey says
The woman nods and looks at the rest of the senate, they nod back and start typing something on some sort of machine built into Repulsorpod. Rey and I stand there quietly waiting, soon all they all look up at the same time and the woman starts talking in the middle.
"We have accepted your request, you are to see the Governor ," The woman says
"But you must see him today, at this time." the man in the back says interrupting her.
"Yes, thank you. " Rey says as we bow and the Repulsorpod take off back to dock.
The Repulsorpod docks and Rey and I sigh in relief, ready for the last meeting?" I say looking at her. She looks stressed tired and hungry.
"I guess were not gonna get lunch either." Rey says looking at her clock that reads 12:00.
"I know i'm starving too, but remember we get to eat at that fancy restaurant tonight," I say smiling at her.
"I thought that was tomorrow night?" Rey says raising an eyebrow and smiling at me.
"Today is tomorrow night silly." I say smiling at her and taking her hand, as we walk into the senators building.
"Oh happy anniversary." She says smiling at me.
Our hands break apart as we walk into the governors office. I can tell he's expecting us, because he keeps writing whatever he's doing,and then looks up.
"Ahh, Rey and Poe please sit." He says embracing us with open arms.
"Thank you governor." We say as we sit down
" I've heard about you from the council and the senate, they say you are very convincing." He says with a grin on his face.
"Thank you governor, General Leia wanted me to give you this and say if we don't work together we won't win this war." Rey says giving him the gold
"Yes, I understand, you want us to guard the outer rim, starve the First Order from their resources, it's brilliant." He says smiling
"So, have you made a decision?" Rey asks smiling back at him.
"Yes, I think I have, we will help the Resistance, we will be your allie." He says
"Thank you governor, that's amazing news!" I say
"Yes I am excited to get started, but the senate wants to know what the secret plans were." He says
"It was the map to Luke Skywalker." I say
"Do you have the full map now?" He asks raising an eyebrow.
"Yes we do, and we plan to have someone go in search for him soon." I say
"Well thank you and it will be a pleasure working with you Captain Poe, and Rey." He says as he gets up to shake our hands, then we walk out of his office both smiling.
Outside the sun is starting to set, I start check my watch and it reads 8:08. I sigh, worried that we wouldn't of made it to our reservations, good thing I made it for nine o'clock.
"We've got an hour till dinner, so let's go get ready." I say as Rey grabs my hand and we make our way back to the room.
"Okay." She says as we walk back to our room, and I know tonight is gonna be one I'm not gonna forget.
