My death and something more...

Harry’s P.O.V.

I was holding Ethan against my chest. He looked everywhere with his blue eyes wide open. He was hoping that Emma will come to hug him, as always. Around us all were crying dressed in black.

I had cried so much that now not a single tear escaped my eyes. The scent of flowers filled the air. I did not take my eyes off Ethan. I won’t bear to see ahead.

The cold air was blowing heavily, penetrating me to the bones. Everything seemed gray and full of sadness. The black tie was too tight and uncomfortable to me. A big photo of Emma stood by the coffin. I hugged Ethan tightly. Gemma put her hand on my shoulder. Her eyes were full of tears.

“I think you better go now. Within a few minutes we will have to go,” her voice was hoarse.

“I don’t want them to take her... I will not see her again,” I said, tears started coming out of my eyes.

“You have to be strong... For you and for Ethan.”

I pressed my lips together and walked to the coffin. I closed my eyes tightly. I couldn’t watch this. After a few seconds I forced myself to open my eyes. Emma was lying in the coffin. She was wearing the navy blue dress I had given her. Her skin looked pale. Her wavy hair was beneath her. Her hands rested on her chest. She had a little makeup on and they had painted her nails. She seemed to be asleep... A long, deep sleep.

I approached my hand and stroked her cheek.

“God, Emma. I'll miss you alot. I promise you I'll take care of Ethan. I love you, but I failed to prove it to you. Nobody knows what they have until they lose it... And today I had lost you. I will not forget you. I'll never love someone like you. Don’t leave me, I really need you. I love you.”

I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers. Our last kiss. I turned around and started walking towards the exit of the cemetery. I won’t bear to see more. Anyway this is not a goodbye. This is a see you soon...

I woke up suddenly. I was sweating and felt the sweat going down my skin. I threw all the sheets to the floor and jumped off the bed. I ran out of the room and went down the stairs repeatedly stumbling. I went through the living room noticing the college diploma hanging on the wall. I walked down the hall and entered the kitchen. I threw the door open.

Ethan was sitting in his chair, eating cookies. His blue eyes are fixed on the plate of cookies in front of him. Sarah was putting some things in the cupboards. Sarah was our housekeeper and was always helping Emma. She was cooking something and the aroma of garlic and butter filled the air.

“Emma,” I called her, she turned and looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

“What are you doing out of bed? The doctor said you should rest.”

I approached her and hugged her as tightly as I could, hiding my face in her neck. She hugged me back, realizing that something wasn’t right. She stuck her hands under my shirt and caressed my back with her fingers. I brushed my lips against her skin and took a deep breath, taking in her aroma.

“Sarah, take upstairs Ethan please,” Emma said. Sarah nodded and took Ethan in her arms as she walked towards the stairs.

When we two were alone she pulled away from me and looked me in the eyes.
